This is awesome! Thanks for the warm wishes, everyone. Had a great mellow birthday after hectic moving last week.

This cake reminds me of when I was 19 or 20. My girlfriend and now wife made me a birthday cake in the shape of my beloved Porsche 944. It looked pretty great and she put a lot of love into it. The first slice we cut was a big chunk out of the passenger rear quarter panel. A couple weeks later the car was totaled when it was struck while parked... in the passenger rear quarter panel. So now we no longer make voodoo cakes shaped like things we like. Not sure why I shared this story, but there you go.

Back to the Blackbird, I've been using the titanium almost exclusively (aside from another prototype) and I'm so excited for you guys to get your hands on this thing. The material choice has changed the dynamics in a way that I personally love and expect will be well received. Just a few more weeks!

I typically prefer titanium to steel in the same design and in particular I think the Blackbird would benefit from it. I usually find titanium to retain efficiency, but lower blade feel and soften the feel on the face. I already love the Blackbird, so the titanium version is an answer to my prayers.

That has been precisely my experience with the Blackbird Ti.

Looking forward to testing this hypothesis as I find the Brass version may possibly mimic this, but with much more added weight.  Smile

Something to do with the weight of the material....
