When I received my Blackbird, a friend here at DFS suggested that I use a very light touch with the Blackbird and also use it exclusively for two weeks straight to try to get to know the razor. I followed those instructions and am very happy that I did so. As I posted earlier in this thread, the Blackbird is my favorite razor at this point and it is by far my most used razor in my piles of vintage and contemporary razors.
If by chance it doesn't work for you, I'm sure Shane Blackland Razors will take care of you with his 30-day return policy. The customer service is great!

Using a new razor for a couple of weeks straight is excellent advice.
In fact I'm going to do that with my black oxide B/B.
I haven't done that and will do now. Sometimes it gets crazy as I take out two razors to use in one shave,
(some of you know the drill...), then I attempt to determine which side of my face got a closer, smoother shave.
Sometimes it actually works. Nice posts on the Blackbird, looking forward to getting one of Shane's Darts.
