Personally, I think it is towards the cap and then you can make your adjustments from there.

For me it is toward the guard and that may explain why I never have any drag with either of my black oxide blackbirds

Mid-aggressive with excellent efficiency. So good in fact for me, that I ordered one last night with the 10% discount that Blackland is offering. Paired with a Kai it has been an incredible razor. Not for everyone but, definitely good enough for me.

Which finish and baseplate did you go for?

I run mine on the guard. Then again, I tend to run them all on the guard. I only used the black oxide a couple times and notice the face feel was not as smooth as the polished. I wouldn't consider it drag though. Both are exceptional shavers. I lean toward the black for aesthetics. I have plenty of polished pieces, the black would be a nice contrast in the rack.

Glad you’re enjoying the Blackbird, Gus! Loaning each other razors is turning out to be a rather expensive proposition for both of us...

HaHa.... Yes it has Scott. But the first 3 shaves have been pure bliss. Just an excellent shaver with the right amount of efficiency and blade feel yet, relatively smooth for being an open comb razor. It’s been a blast.

The Misses saw me head out to the balcony with my IPad in hand last night and knew what I was up to. My cc’s are smoking as of late. And yes, I ordered her a special something to offset my acquisition. Got to think ahead of the curve here..... Winking

After really enjoying the Dart, I caved and bought a Blackbird last night.

How well does it shave for you? Is it in your top 3? Also I've been reading about this "drag" issue, mainly with the black oxide finish, how many of you face this issue? Thanks in advance!

It is unequivocally my most favorite safety DE razor. Not to say that I do not like my CharcolaGoods Lvl 3, Karve, Webers, Paradigm, WMs, and my most recent addition - Dart (which might vey well join the BB at the top).

Do you have the OC or SB?
