I only use my OC on two day growth. The rest of the time I enjoy using the SB.

Cool video.

Thanks much TSEvangelist for this detailed comparison! It seems that they are essentially equal, so I imagine the best approach would be to purchase one based on the style preference. I think I'll go for the straight bar over the open comb, as they usually feel slightly more smooth for me, at least for daily shaving.

Okay, I'lll just get both the OC and SB, and eventually the slant also - all in 3 different finishes......eventually ;-)

Definitely. For me it's 6 in one hand, half a dozen in the other. Go with the style you prefer unless you plan on getting James to customize the blade gap or blade exposure.

Haha, thanks. One thing I can tell you, synthetics will spoil you in terms of ease of lathering. I'm having to load much heavier and work a bit harder to get a decent lather with my boars. I'm not exactly sure why that is but it's definitely requires a bit more loading and work with natural. I wish I knew the science behind it but I do notSmile

I only have a dual comb head right now and I use the OC side for the first pass and the SB side for the second and touch up pass if needed. I plan on getting the OC head and a SB head.
