Barrister & Mann Shaving Soap. The aroma changed for the worse

I find this entire situation outrageous. Will has responded about whether he has changed the formula, and I don't believe any further conversation is merited. There are innumerable reasons why the scents of the same soap from a different batch may not smell exactly the same even with the exact same ingredients. The idea that anyone would believe this is some sort of conspiracy is just laughable. I cannot conceive of what else anyone could possibly say on the matter.

One awful thing about Will's kindness in being so responsive to us is that some members have become so absurdly entitled and emboldened to voice insane demands and expectations. He made another batch of soap and you did not like it. That's ok. Move on. It does not require investigative journalism and a smear campaign.

"Investigative journalism and a smear campaign" was a very nice touch! Will has proved himself to be an amazing vendor and I don't think there's anyone (esp this guy) that can smear his good name.

Well, overly dramatic "checkmate" aside, ....

I do not see comments from one of the folks at Maggard's as authoritative on this subject. To the best of my knowledge, they do not make soap and there are too many variables involved.

At this point I don't know what happened and I don't care. I believe in the folks at B&M and can say without hesitation that my next soap purchase will be some Seville.

I have some sandalwood / currant Latha and the scent is totally awesome. I also have another B&M soap where I don't prefer the scent. That is nothing against B&M, the quality of the soap base or the quality of the scent. Clearly many people love it as it is one of their regulars. I certainly don't hold it against B&M. If wanting to play it safe, I would have ordered a sample.

Will - u r a better person than I. I would not have issued a refund. Or even had the patience to continue with the nonsense. Good on you. Live your stuff and will continue to buy it. ... but hey... don't change my favorite Seville. Tee hee

Will, the refund was probably the best money you could have possibly spent to be done with this nonsense.

OTOH, perhaps we should have an investigation into the Russian interference with our soap industry.

like asking every beefsteak to taste exactly like the one before. Will, your First Snow is a masterpiece to this Idaho kid and Dickens, well don't ever quit making that one.

If we're making requests... Please bring back Roam for an early summer surprise...... :-)
