Any hint on when it may be available from Shaving station?  

Well, the samples are due in to us tomorrow and we're hoping to get them shipped to Stuart by the end of the week. Might take a week or so after that? I'm sure he'll make an announcement.

Just curious but why would you be receiving the samples? Don't you make the samples and package them or do you now have a team that does that? Ive always wondered if you actually make the products or if you stick to the fragrances.

This project is designed to take on the mass market and thus needs to be produced on an industrial scale (which is far beyond my capability). It's actually being manufactured by the same lab that produces Velvet Leg Lotion for us. I've been working on it in secret for 17 months now, but it's finally to the point where I'm ready to start showing it to people and giving it some final polish.

Edit: I just want to point out that this is very much my formula. I worked on it in the lab for 9 months before I even sent it to them (there were certain things that I didn't have the equipment to do properly). It's extremely powerful.

Thanks for explaining Will. I knew you had to at least design the formula, just didn't know how big your operation had grown and was curious. Congrats on the new market expansion.

Unfortunately, it would take considerable capital investment for that kind of equipment. I just don't have that kind of cash on hand, so I went to someone who did. I try to keep as many things as possible in the US, though, so I went to an American manufacturer.

Will knows who I am and how critical I can be in describing scents (Lux flakes for one, Liquid Fabric softener for another and my favourite, which didn't go into production, a fresh modern aquatic which could do with a bit more depth).
I think the point in a not so succinct manner, is try harder.
Give it a go, what have you to lose by trying to explain the scent?
Compare it to things you know, as it will help others understand the scent profile to some degree.
Then think of what's different between the two, explain that.
Before you know it, you will have developed a basic scent profile description.

I think your point came through loud and clear.  My point is that you could have made your point in a more positive, encouraging manner.  I think thats the tone that we're trying to foster here at DFS and it doesn't hurt to extend that approach into the wet shaving community generally.

I can not take credit, nor be obliged to field criticism for the third party that did and we should remember that they actually did write it, rather than sit back an pick points afterwards.
I admit to being very much naive in this instance, yet have you penned any articles?
If you haven't, could you share with us your knowledge by doing so if you feel fit to do so?

Barrister_N_Mann, is the new, currently-in-beta aftershave alcohol-free? (read, will you be able to ship it overseas? ;-) )

It's not alcohol-free, but we're shipping 500 samples of it to Shaving Station in the UK via special courier to get feedback from the EU. Once the design is fully completed, we will begin pursuing certification by the EU Cosmetics Commission.

It's also not the only branch of the project. More info as we move closer to finishing it.

Does this mean there will be MSDS compliance for your products, so resellers can import items?

Only for this line, but yes, there will be MSDS compliance and full Cosmetics Commission certification.

If it's not too early to ask ... will this aftershave line be produced in the same scents of (some of) your soaps (more or less like the current AS tonique), or will be a completely separate line also in terms of scents?

Completely separate in terms of everything, including scents. That said, trust me when I say that it will be worth the departure.
