Thanks Will!  How did the Meetup go?  Any revelations? Inspirations?

It went very well!

Whew! You about gave me a heart attack.

No, it's labdanum, which is the closest natural analogue to ambergris. If we used real ambergris, no one would be able to afford it, least of all us. Smile

Sorry about that, I thought it was a little odd because I check the New Arrivals on a few sites regularly and I had looked at IB last night late so when I went in this morning after getting home from the gym and saw the B&M items in New Arrivals showing Sold Out, I thought WTF? How did they get released and sold out overnight and why are they released a week early?? I double checked at your site and then eventually clicked through and saw the bold red notice. Should have done that first and saved your heart the stress.

This was the case with the upcoming Above the Tie Bamboo SE1 razor on another site – if you look at just the “Whatâ€s New” page, itâ€s showing as “sold out,” and you experience that “What the hell?” moment. But opening the product page itself reveals that the razor has not yet been released. So the web store app is just showing it as “sold out” because there is no stock – yet.  Cool

Well, not quite. IndieGoGo will be used for Barrister's Reserve, but we will be doing the same thing we did for 42 for Hallows: pre-sale, shipment to vendors, additional batches, the works. Smile

Thats good to hear, however, my concern is that the indie-a-go-go campaign garners global attention and everyone on earth will know what we know and be clamouring to buy B&M products - the competition will get fierce and soon, in a post-apocolytic world, roaming bands of savages will scour the planet willing to do anything for a decent shave using B&M products.  I'd better stock up now Smile

Oh, and don't ask me why post-apocolyptic savages are concerned with good grooming.

Always double down, lol....

I just received a tub of Roam from a forum fellow who got it off the recent Reddit release and did not fancy it. I, on the other hand! Oh man, this scent is different from everything. I think in all sorts of directions and associations, from mesquite and squashed bugs to teak cupboards and burnt leather. And a whole lot more. But not really smoke per se , as many do. A post fire fireplace where exotic woods have been burnt, perhaps. wonder, though, Will, what is the 'official' scent pyramid? I'm not as versed in the trade as you are and don't have all of the scent (element) references.

I really like the idea of resurrecting old fragrances for your new aftershaves and they all smelled wonderful. I also picked up a tub of Latha Original while I was there, love it! Hope you and your Mom made it home safe and sound!

It was great to meet you too, Jeff! I'm glad you like them so much. Smile Glad you got home safely!

At least he sent it to someone who's a fan. Smile The official note list (I can break it down into the drydown order, if you'd like, but it was constructed without a "pyramid" per se, a nod to the leather structure of Bulgari Black) is as follows: leather, smoke, thyme/herbs, tobacco, grass, musk (the lovely macrocyclic musk Velvione) and damp earth.

Well, it doesn't smell anything LIKE Bulgari Black. It was just one of those instances where I thought, "Well, Annick Menardo did it, so why can't I?"

Got my 42 in the mail Saturday and had Towel Day a bit early. Big Grin Really, really, like the scent. To my nose, It reminds me of Seville and Cheshire mixed, with a bit of an earthy note floating around in there. Not exactly sure what it is, but no matter, it's a great scent profile. This will be a year round soap for me.

Performance and packaging were of course top notch as well.

Received shipping notice yesterday of my 42 soap (and Petit Chypre splash). It just might --with a good portion of luck--reach me in time for shaving on the 25th. Keep your reports coming on the 42, guys, to keep my spirit upWink

Will, I have to say that having both 42 and Arctique lathered at the Maggards meet was a great idea. I really enjoyed the scent of 42 and I didn't think I would based on the scent profile listed. keep up the great work.
