I take it you haven't tried it yet? I just received mine the other day too and what a scent! I get lemon off the puck but once lathered the Sandalwood and Vetiver join the lemon for a truly remarkable scent. The performance should go without saying, it's excellent. This one is a keeper!

Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the performance Hector.

Can someone please describe Fireside? I saw the fragrances that are in it but the description is not up yet. It releases tomorrow and I'm trying to decide if I want to grab Dickens which I owned before and really like the scent on or wait and buy Fireside tomorrow.
Thanks

It smells like a balloon of cognac. Smile That's why there will be no aftershave; we were concerned that it was so accurate that people would get themselves in trouble. The soap fragrance doesn't remain on the skin (unlike some of our other soaps), but the aftershave would smell boozy for quite some time.

Thanks Will. That sounds good although I might have to go smell a bottle of cognac again first..lol. I'm a scotch drinker.

I don't know how any shaving site wouldn't want B&M as a merchant.  This is one of the best soaps I have ever used and I have been wet shaving and DE for over thirty years. Happy2

I'm very glad to hear that you like it, Hector. Smile

Incidentally, our Fireside cognac shaving soap is now available, folks! Check it out at http://www.barristerandmann.com/products...-fragrance

A balloon of scent is a great way to put it Will. It is a big wave of boozy goodness that envelops you while lathering and mellows quickly. I'm also a whisky/whiskey man so whereas that scent is more earth, peat, and magic (water of life) keep in mind this scent is derived from distilled grapes and that is evident (not a bad thing). It really puts you in mind for a tipple so makes a great choice for a night time shave. Grab a brandy next time your out, which is handy for sprucing up your eggnog anyhow.

I really like the new label, Will. I still have last year's batch and, along with Leviathan, have to say I love how they have matured/mellowed. They are still plenty potent and the harsh musk from Leviathan has receded leaving behind dark brilliant awesomeness. I admit I had it in my head last year that perhaps some ingredient in Fireside affected the performance so I shelved it for much of the year but I proved that wrong to myself the other day. Really enjoyed it and plan on using it plenty this festive season!

For the first time, I went for a B&M LE on the release day. I am intrigued with Fireside and eager to try out the glissant formula!
