I received samples of the 3 soaps and splashes on Monday.

The scent strength of all the soaps is very good, particularly Cool and Spice. They are all spot on matches for the aftershaves as well.

If you are a Floid Blue fan, which I definitely am, I would highly recommend Cool. I have been waiting for years for somebody to create this soap. I have almost begun to worry that the magic of this scent might wear off now that it will be abundantly available.

I'm a little on the fence about the classic scent, because I feel there is one particular note in it which it shares with Floid Amber that sort of bugs me, but I can't really place it and I may be wrong anyway. IMO It's a pleasant, inoffensive scent otherwise.

Spice is a great warm scent which I do feel is close to the old school Old Spice and I will definitely be picking it up in the full tub when available. I see it becoming a staple for me in the colder months.

The performance of this base is quite good. Without engaging in too much hyperbole, I do think it is an improvement in the latherability department. I'm not sure that department even needed an improvement from the glissant base. I scooped a little bit out of the sample jar and created a great lather that I feel is up there with the best. You can probably shave for nearly a week with each of those samples. I'm really glad these are being made and will be permanent offerings.

I know what you mean, Amir. That note... is it Iris? I couldn't put my finger on it as well. Thanks for the review, I'm also looking forward to trying this one.

I don't think it is. I've heard iris smells a bit like lipstick. I do get that in some of the colognes I own which are noted to have iris (especially Dior Homme Intense). But what do I know?

It's a strange scent.. I smell it in Chanel no.5 as well. But come to think of it, you're right, there's none of that in Dior Homme Intense. It's not unpleasant but it's a very distinct scent I just can't quite point out.

Got the sample pack. I love the Cool Reserve soap-smells like Floid Blue 100% and its performance is perfect.

Does Cool have menthol in it? I did see it (or missed it) on the ingredient list.

If it has, the amount is not too pronounced.

No menthol in Cool. I think it feels cool to me because I associate that scent with menthol. Brains are weird.

Does Spice smell like Old Spice, ANG69?
Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.”  “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.

While we wait for his response, I'll say that I have many Old Spice aftershaves and colognes, including vintage Shulton, modern Indian OS and modern versions. The Barrister's Reserve Spice aftershave is my favorite version.

Unfortunately, I never came across any Old Spice that smelled like the B&M Spice. To my nose its scent was close to some of Manuel's (Eufros) creations - Kasbah and Brisa de Oriente. Pleasant and delicate.
