Dave in KY would it make you feel better if I posted directly to this thread? I wanted as many people as possible to see this razor – just trying to spread the gospel by posting into the right thread about one's daily shave.

Usually it gets posted in the thread of the pass around so people know where it is that are following it. That doesn't mean you can't post in the SOTD also to have others that may be unaware of the pass around be able to see it. Re-post it wherever you want. It doesnt have to be just the one thread Happy2

Brush: Dogwood Tooth Fairy 26mm B14
Razor: Aylsworth Drakkant prototype
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (6)
Lather: Declaration Grooming - After the Rain - Soap
Post Shave: Declaration Grooming - After the Rain - Aftershave
Fragrance: Maher Olfactive - Orris Forest - Eau de Parfum

Nice final shave with the Drakkant this morning. Now to be sent off to Arizona (wait, that's not in Canada?! lol).
I have really enjoyed my time with this razor, and although mild to me it was still very efficient. I particularly liked the 2 head shaves I used it for.
Congrats to you Kaleb, for designing an awesome tool. The handle is my favourite above all other razors I have used, I think.
Thanks for doing this pass around. I hope the next users get to enjoy it as much as I did.

Shave #1 (4/5/22)

Razor: Aylsworth Drakkant Prototype
Blade: Gillette Nacet 2nd Use
Brush: Simpson Trafalgar T3
Soap: Løthur Calm
Post: Løthur Calm

Three pass shave:
1st pass WTG (Cheeks) WTG (Neck)
2nd pass XTG (Cheeks) WTG/ATG (Neck)
3rd pass ATG (Cheeks) WTG/ATG (Neck)
Touch ups around the chin and neck area

Results:
First shave in the books a couple days ago and the razor performed very well. I was shaving on about 5-6 days growth which for me is longer than I prefer but the razor had no problem taking it down.

The fit and finish on the razor is excellent and with the unique knurling at no time did I feel I would lose control of the razor. The design is very sleek and I enjoy the thin head geometry.

With that thinner head design I did notice my angle of attack was closer to one of the Karve CB. I for one don’t mind that angle at all and each razor is different in finding it’s ideal angle.

A very comfortable shave overall. Had very little irritation on the bottom left side of the neck but that is not the razors fault at all. I already had a couple of bumps in that area from not shaving sooner. If I don’t shave around 3-4 days my thick coarse beard gets really wiry as it grows in all different directions and I tend to get bumps in that part of the neck which is my trouble area.

Shave is on the mild side but that’s not a bad thing. I would probably bump up the aggression just a bit for my preference as I prefer to take less strokes and not buffer. If I have to buffer then I’m definitely leaving
more chance for irritation with my skin.

Overall very impressed with the design and first shave!

Shave #2 (4/7/22)

Razor: Aylsworth Drakkant Prototype
Blade: Wizamet Super Iridium 3rd Use
Brush: Mojo Handcrafts Solar Flare with 26mm Oumo Hand Tied SHD LotusTip Manchuria
Soap: Murphy & McNeil BDLM3
Post: Murphy & McNeil BDLM3

Three pass shave:
1st pass WTG (Cheeks) WTG (Neck)
2nd pass XTG (Cheeks) WTG/ATG (Neck)
3rd pass ATG (Cheeks) WTG/ATG (Neck)
Touch ups around the chin and neck area

Results:
Second shave with the Drakkant. Went with a soap base that I have grown to really enjoy and sits well with my skin.

Paired with my other go to blade the Wizamet Super Iridium rewarded me with another overall great shave. Was able to perform a three pass shave and really for the upper part (cheeks/goatee) I could have called it in two. With the neck was able to get in a very comfortable third pass for a DFS shave.

The head design clamps the blade very well close to its edge substantially eliminating chances of having blade chatter which in my opinion is key for consistently achieving comfortable shaves.

One thing I want to note that was great on the third and final pass I try and take a downward pass which is both a WTG/ATG pass for myself as my hair grows in all different directions in the neck area. The razor performed vert well not tugging or pulling leaving no irritation or soreness in that area. Very few DE razors I attempt this with because most DE’s for myself with the exception of very few tug and pull even on a third pass with substantial hair reduction from the previous two passes. The Drakkant passed this test for myself!

Looking forward to the third and final!

Third and Final Shave

Razor: Aylsworth Drakkant Prototype
Blade: Feather Hi Stainless 4th Use
Brush: Craving Shaving Solar Flare with 26mm Smilez for Milez V69 Soft Titty
Soap: Blue Devil Shave Co Sinnerman Orange
Post: Old Spice Classic Original

Three pass shave:
1st pass WTG (Cheeks) WTG/ATG (Neck)
2nd pass XTG (Cheeks) WTG/ATG (Neck)
3rd pass ATG (Cheeks) WTG/ATG (Neck)
Touch ups around the chin and neck area

Results:
Third and final shave with the Drakkant and really it’s been a pleasure to use. Kaleb and the entire team there has made a terrific razor and if this is the prototype the final product will be that much better with options to choose from.

For the final shave I went with a blade that I don’t go with to often because it’s been hit or miss for myself. Since this is just a bit above a mild razor for myself at the .73 gap I thought a Feather Hi Stainless would be exactly what I was looking for in aggression. Spot on with the choice of blade over the Wizamet and Nacet which are usually my go to baldes. Even with the Feather inside the razor at no time did I feel I would nick or cut myself. Razor felt very nimble and maneuverable for all three shaves.

An absolute clean three pass shave with no irritation from either the razor/blade or soap.
Very comfortable face feel for the post and for myself that’s the absolute goal over getting as close to BBS as possible.

Job well done Kaleb and Team Aylsworth. All the very best with the growth of the Drakkant! Appreciate everyone involved in this pass around and thank you for allowing myself to participate.

For those of you participating in this pass around, how would you compare the Drakkant to a Raw Shaving RS10 — either the mild or aggressive baseplates? Thanks.
