I have the ATT H1 and H2 plates and love the shave. I had the chance to borrow someone else’s stainless Windsor H plate/head and to me, it was much less aggressive and less efficient than the standard razor. The shave was so different I decided against purchasing one, even though the copper Windsor is beautiful. If Stan makes a copper bamboo handle I may buy it “just because”!

This is disappointing to hear. I wonder what the CM1 and the CR1 are like, if the CH1 turned out to be clearly different (milder) than the H1…

(I’ve only had the Calypso R1, and would usually shim it to make it more efficient. This was before the Calypso H1 was released.)

As with anything YMMV with the Windsor and you may like it. I did not.

I have the R head and it is a little less aggressive than my Timeless 68. The Copper is my best looking razor.

I am going to use my .95 Timeless this weekend for the first time. I have tried the R, M, S1 and Calypso R. I'll report back. Smile

It is more efficient than the M. It is more efficient and smoother than the R and R calypso. The S1 has been the most efficient and smoothest razor for me to date (Which is weird because the S1 is supposed to be in between the M and R plates). I would put it on par with the S1. It really is a nice razor. I have only used it once though so take my opinion FWIW.

Just finished my first shave today. I used the Windsor handle which is beastly for me. I always use a titanium handle so the weight was significantly more. I can’t even compare the razor to others until I use a lighter handle.

Thanks for the review!

Right now, it seems Above the Tie is expanding the Calypso double edge line. (Open combs and slants are in the plans.) It’ll be interesting to see if the Windsor line will also eventually be expanded. (I do wonder how they would keep the new, cool design feature of those holes in the bottom plate, if they were to introduce an open comb design…)
