For years I've been an ATT loyalist. I haven't tried the Windsor line but I think I have nearly other plate and cap. Anyway, for the past month and a half or so I've been shaving with the BlackBird. Yesterday I shaved with the ATT M2 and found it way too mild! By the end of the day I had wisps of whiskers coming back. Today i used the ATT R2, which was my daily razor for a while. With a new Astra blade, my face was a field of weepers and lots of irritation.

I think my face has gotten spoiled by the Bird and now very few other razors work for me. I don't think my technique has changed. (By the way, I'm sure the vintage Gillettes still work fine for my face.) Anyway, I think I might be putting my once beloved ATTs up for sale, but plan to hang on to the S1 and maybe the S2. I do think the S1 is the best razor Stan made and I'm eager to give it some face time.

As in all things shaving, YMMV, don't operate your kit under the influence, etc.

Back in the days when I would only shave with straight razors or slant DEs I bought the S1 & S2 heads. I liked them then, and though I rarely use one or the other lately, I still like them enough to keep them. As I began to broaden my horizons, and phase straights out, I tried the fearsome Bullmoose SE. Then Obie said he liked ATT's SE even more so I went with that. Another keeper. The Blackbird is a great razor. One of the top three in my den.

I would highly recommend the Windsor razor.

I have the Windsor with H plate and atlas handle.
This razor is so efficient and yet so smooth!

The original head which you have reveals 2mm of blade, which is quite large and prone to blade chatter and can cause nicks.

The Windsor reveals just 1mm of blade, making it buttery smooth and yet, really efficient with the 0.91mm blade gap.

The ATT H1 is one of the razors that I like more than all of my wolfmans and timeless 0.95OC. The only ones that I have that equal it are the CG LVL 3 OC and the Muhle R41.

The title of this thread made me gasp - thought it was being disco’ed. There’s nothing that would make me part with my H1.

Business is certainly down, Matt admitted that but I just bought their GEM razor. There are times when I miss my M2 Calypso but now I have better options.

Not all their products are great performers (fit and finish is very very good imo) but, for example, I use the SE1 very often. The BB, not so much.
