Nikos, I never accused you of anything and apologise if you thought so. I finally woke up and smelled the Harris Pink. This drama queen behavior over what distills down to men's toiletry products is demeaning and deMANing. Yes, I was and probably am still part of the 'fanboy' mentality with loyalties I hope are based on friendship and product and not any perks. Phil was incredibly generous to me and others and I wish him well. I wish everyone well as long as they don't put a gun to my head and steal food from my refrigerator. But I will not be abused by anyone verbally or as a consumer. The abuse of a vendor, the arrogant rudeness of a name 'to big to fail' like our banks and car companies and the tribal reaction of a moderator that pushed my button during a time of great personal loss led me to tell him off in a rather succinct and final reply. I can patronize any number of vendors; Moustache, West Coast Shaving etc who somehow have avoided all this chest slapping, dirt throwing posturing and respect their customers. And that, again distilled is what I am; maybe not the most income generating although I try reciprocating with goodwill. I don't need people in clay masks performing classic greek tragedies in the amphitheater to buy a damned MWF puck. And I certainly don't need Jeff Bezos to do it either. man owes me money and I'll deal with him at my convenience later.

If I didn't understand correctly your post, I apologize too, Chris. I just want to make clear that I don't support ANY vendor. Actually, I'm in restraint, believe it or not

Maybe we should send all the vendors to one of those corporate training sessions. The ones where they have to work together building a raft to cross a crocodile infested lake to eat breakfast or something.

Ok,

Back to the topic at hand. I own one ( I actually owned two, sold the SS, kept the brass). The shave and workmanship were excellent. When ever I have had a problem, Phil responded promptly, so from my view, customer service has been top knotch. Of course I provided pictures of the issues (with the B&R adjustable razor not the Asylum razor) and a resolution was provided in short order. So razor, thumbs up, customer service thumbs up, and workmanship thumbs up.

As a footnote, I'm with Nikos, I rarely understand any of KAV's posts, so maybe write like your a reporter for the National Enquirer? Throw in a couple UFO sightings and two headed lizards and we are golden? I don't know just putting it out there..

Just my thoughts.

Engine literally fell out of a brand new Chrysler right in front of the old dealership in San Francisco when I was a toddler. We still bought Chryslers. Post some photos?

Now your speaking my language, thank you Sir!

From the pictures you can see all of the machine marks on it which is not acceptable for the price especially since it would cost me the same as what I paid for my Wolfman. Joe's $60 SS Hawk is damn near perfect so to me it's way overpriced for the low quality.

A. I see no photo or reference to any ( sloppy finishing to the craft of writing) B. your objection is cosmetic C. Cosmetics have nothing intrinsically to do with QUALITY of performance D. Original poster clearly set his personal criteria on performance E. the intrinsic value or retail price is what a consumer is willing and able to pay F. You make comparison with the legendary WOLFMAN hand finished prices-retail or the post resale scalpers? G. there has been no lack of catterwalling over the availability of said hand finished WOLFMANS and H. plenty of complaints about it's D. above performance. So by any measure of critical thinking original poster's enthusiasm by HIS criteria is perfectly valid and your argument invalid.

I have one and I think it's a very fine razor indeed. The quality is top notch in my view.

The finish is not a highly polished finish, it has a machine finish. I see that as a plus. I also don't understand why anyone complains about the finish. The pictures on the Bullgoose website clearly show the finish for exactly what it is. Many reviewers have posted close-up photographs as well and the finish is clearly shown for exactly what it is. If one does not like a machined finish, then one ought not to purchase the razor. Blackland also sells razors with a machine finish. Here's a quote from the Blackland website:

Machined

The machined finish Blackbird proudly shows off the markings created during the process of machining each razor. The intricate, carefully-planned patterns left in the surface tell the story of the Blackbird's journey from solid steel to finished product.

Perhaps Phil should post something similar.

It is a milder razor than the original Darwin, no question about that. One of the reasons I really like the finish is that when one looks at it there is no question that it isn't a copy of the Darwin, it is instead a new razor based on the Darwin without trying to be a knock-off like the new Chinese razors that are cheap look alike knock-offs of the Merkur Futurs.

The Evolution is a stainless steel razor which shaves really well and while everyone is free to think what they want about aesthetics, to my eye it is beautiful and I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

This thread is a sad example of innocent, third party, often new CUSTOMERS getting pulled into ( mea culpa) shaving feuds. A merchant wrongs an individual or group and can't figure out why he receives bad PR ( but my mother LOVES ME.) My above counter argument to Nukiman, and we share no small degree of injury seemed pretty weird once I posted. Butif we are to take any moral high ground all actions must be honed sharper than a Feather. This forum is very catholic in letting all post without censor of product or individual. It also works hard to keep all the crap from other forums out. Them's the rules, and if we can't handle it then start ANOTHER damn shaving forum. I think CUT MY OWN THROAT is a catchy title and embraces some of the utterly boorish behavior by people with less spine than a KENT. I LOVE this curious toilet turned hobby. But when theoretically grown men commission McDonalds supersize me phallic bootleg brushes and insult the original creator tying dry flies or painting 54MM lead soldiers with a snifter of Armanac with Mozart playing becomes very attractive.
