Confused RolleyesThanks. Color me embarrassed, but not too badly.  I am still impressed with the ingredients and still looking forward to the soaps.

Don't worry, I'm sure they both impart the same type of properties to shaving soap. Goats milk might even be better, who knows...

Where's the tallow???

My jars of Pamplemousse and Platinum just arrived.  I ordered them three days ago from shavingshopclub.com.  The ingredients listed on the jars differ from the ingredients listed on both aegrooming.com and shavingshopclub.com.  In particular, tallow is not listed on the jars as an ingredient.  The ingredients on shavingshopclub.com differ somewhat from aegrooming.com, but both websites still show tallow as the second ingredient.

Here is the ingredient list copied from shavingshopclub.com a few moments ago:
Stearic Acid, Tallow, Goats Milk, Shea Butter, Potassium Hydroxide, Kokum Butter, Glycerin, Sodium Hydroxide, Mango Butter, Cocoa Butter, Coconut Oil,  Avocado Oil, Castor Oil,  Lanolin, Bentonite Clay, Sodium Lactate, Beeswax, Fragrance & EO's.

Here is the list copied from aegrooming.com:
Stearic Acid, Tallow, Goats Milk, Shea Butter, Potassium Hydroxide, Kokum Butter, Glycerin, Mango Butter, Cocoa Butter, Coconut Oil,  Avocado Oil, Castor Oil, Sodium Hydroxide, Lanolin, Sodium Lactate, Beeswax,  Fragrance & EO's.

Here is the list on the jars I received:
Stearic Acid, Goats Milk, Shea Butter, Potassium Hydroxide, Kokum Butter, Glycerin, Mango Butter, Cocoa Butter, Coconut Oil,   Avocado Oil, Castor Oil,  Sodium Hydroxide,   Lanolin, Sodium Lactate, Beeswax,  Fragrance & EO's.

I sent a message to shavingshopclub customer service a few minutes ago.  I hope there is a good explanation, and that their customer service is as classy as their website.  ... Stay tuned.

Well CS, you will probably be glad to hear this ...

I got an almost immediate reply from Peter of A&E reassuring me that all the soaps have tallow, goat's milk, and lanolin.  The speed of this reply is pretty impressive to me, considering I wrote them after 10:00PM on a Friday night.  Here is what Peter said :

The website is absolutely correct. I’ve been away in Australia and it seems my wife used the ingredients label which was misprinted. ALL A&E and Club branded soaps are made in the new Tallow base with goats milk & lanolin.  Sorry for the confusion, but rest assured they are in my new base with Tallow.   I’m not making a vegan base. Kind regards, Peter

NOTE: I added the red-bold font emphasis.  I thought it was fair to add the emphasis because I emphasized "Tallow" in my earlier post.

I pointed out to Peter that shavingshopclub.com and aegrooming.com are both websites, and they show somewhat different ingredients lists.  So it is not enough to know that "the website" is absolutely correct.  We need to know which website.   I asked Peter to please send me the correct list and promised to pass it on.  But as it stands, we have been reassured unequivocally about the tallow.

Shave Cream: A&E Grecian
AfterShave: A&E Grecian
So I just received the shave cream and aftershave today, so excitement was building in me to try this soap the 1st chance I got. Scent on this is very strong but lovely! This from what I read is also a Fougère. Still not familiar with what makes a soap a Fougère, but I seem to have a thing for them.
I have a sample of Grecian Horse, and I love the modern cologne-type scent of the product. However, I cannot really make the fougère connection that Ariana & Evans does on their site. This doesn’t smell much like any of the other fougères I have tried. Grecian Horse to me is a modern masculine scent, but we all know that scents are perceived quite differently from person to person.

I’ve also tried Asian Plum just once. Definitely a nice scent, and even better performance. Wet shavers are spoiled these days, with all the good soaps that are available.

I've got 3 fougeres myself. I can't figure it out, none of them smell even slightly similar.

Peters goats milk soap base is my current favorite. Dollar for Dollar I’d put it against anything else out there.

Link? Huh
Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.”  “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.
