Thanks guys!

This will be my second SOC. Both I got for a steal of a price. The other is Cherry Wood and looks very nice.

Did you ever get Tallow+Steel Merchandise 7x?  It was a coca-cola scented soap and splash. It smelled beautifully coca-cola but unfortunately had some scent components that lit up my skin more than anything I’ve ever put on my face and apparently I was not alone. Ryan pulled that one and has been super cautious ever since. It’s too bad because it really smells great. Better in my opinion than Wickhams Cola.

I hopped on Murphy and McNeil to see what's in their used marketplace this morning. Saw a gently used butterscotch SOC Boar for $35. With a coupon code I got it for $31.50. I believe that's an awesome price for an SOC, and I needed a butterscotch brush still in my collection.

Just need to figure out where to put it. Ugh.

Well, I HAD to go see this site that I hadn't heard of. And there I beheld all matter of used shave gear! It's like a giant BST, but only for S!!! And I found something. Now I have to step back, take a breath, and tell myself to sleep on it.

For the most part, I find the prices higher at M&M than here or other BST threads. Occasionally you find a good deal, as I did... You gotta jump on those as they don't last. Shipping is also always free, which rocks these days.

Here's another interesting one...

While looking up the limited edition Semogue brushes I ran into this guy. It's 22mm and should look very familiar. From what I found, it's made by Semogue for this company (who I believe makes soaps?). Pretty snazzy colors, too bad the prices are rather steep. [Image: fc7a49a276d59b26f131b0db33795dbd.jpg]

FWIW  I really like Sudsey Soapery Cola with Rhassoul Clay. Very nice scent and soap. Very protective and slick.

Thanks! I've almost jumped on a few of their soaps. Might have to give that one a shot.

Much appreciated.

So I've spent the past day and change trying to decide my plan of attack for DecemBoar. I started with a 22mm Semogue, so the ideas that come to mind are: go through them one by one, by size. So I'd use the three 22s, then onto the 4 24s, and finally the one 26 and 28. However, As I'm still new to Boars, I'm more of the mindset that I should try each size out. That would give me a better idea of how they compare, and I'd sooner know which size works best for me. Finally, I also thought I should try to go through the different manufacturers at first... So my next brush could be the Zenith or some such, since I already used a Semogue. The problem then is apples to apples if I'm switching sizes and manufacturer. The only thing I've completely decided on, at this point, is I'm spending too much energy thinking about it. Lol.

I'm also considering searching for another gamechanger 84 (or something very similar, I guess). After using the winning razor a few times, and probably using it again tonight, I'm finally coming around to switching between razors. Thus it might be nice to have a third option. I know the 84 was smooth, and I got a pretty good shave from it too. It couldn't beat the Henson, but it was good... and different. I guess we'll see if that notion holds, lol. Not going to jump into it just yet. Rather take my time and watch the BSTs for a deal.

It's Friday... and a shave day for me. So more Boar Fun ahead. Have a good morning DFS!

Hey Paul!
What I am currently doing is just picking one and trying to keep some sort of notes on it. But I get what you're putting down, and it's heavy man! I know I started with a brush that I'd used and liked a lot and planned to compare from there. I have a couple that when dry feel stiff yet, so on work mornings my hand stayed away. They will most likely be up for the weekend. Whatever you do, keep writing about it!  Happy2 There is some great info coming out of this DecemBoar regardless of knot types. I am thoroughly enjoying reading all the posts!
