I was going to say that you can get samples of B&M from Maggard but Will doesn't pack them himself. They've worked out some kind of arrangement and it's nice to see that Tallow and Steel has done the same. I have not tried T&S yet, but now it's pretty much a guarantee that I will at some point in the future.

There's certainly some overhead associated with making/selling samples. I do however think a lot of us have reached "peak soap" and don't intend to keep or buy soaps that we're simply not in love with, considering the number of artisans producing amazing products.

I personally feel like I'm approaching soap burnout and it truly pains me to say it. My den looks out of control these days. It's unfortunate because I was really looking forward to purchasing King of Oud from WhollyKaw but now im reconsidering since minimum investment for me would be ~$50 USD if i choose to get the splash, and i know i would. If i get it and dont love it, I know I can sell it here or on the shaving_bazaar but its kind of a pain in the butt if it sits and doesn't sell/trade for a while.

All these new releases are making me anxious!!! There are plenty of soaps that I want but Im running out of room!

I know what you mean regarding Release schedules - a new form of anxiety, Excessive Product Release Anxiety (EPRA). I've got several WK soaps in the original base, then I got several more in the Donkey Milk base and then I saw the release schedule featuring almost their entire lineup in donkey!!! (that'll do donkey) OMG its like when CDs came out requiring us to re-buy our entire music collection in the new format (sorry if you're too young to appreciate this cultural reference) so I declined Dance of Agrumes. But I couldn't resist King of Oud, I have to have it. I now resolve to be very selective in product that I buy. Seriously, I mean it this time. Fougere Gothique is definitely a must have, however and have you seen what Chatillon Lux has in the pipeline? Big Grin I am so weak.

I’m with you, good fellows. About 20% of time, I ask myself: “Why do I have so many soaps, and when am I going to use them all?” The remaining 80% of the time, I keep getting bitten by either the “New Release Bug” (Soapimus Obsessimus) or the “Must Have from Trusted Brand Bug” (Soapimus Regularis). It’s a sickness, I say, a sickness…

Another “funny” thing is that half the time I’m already shaving with samples, instead of the full-size soaps that I have. Is there a support group I could join? Confused2

(And on the topic: The new Tallow + Steel soap base is very impressive — so good that the scents are almost of secondary importance. Smile But I’m glad to hear samples will be available in the future for those who want them.)

Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”
