A while ago I bought a Fatip Picollo, and then a Timeless OC.
After years of using Gillette Techs, Super Speed, Fatboy Executive, Black Beauty, etc I never realised that my choice of soap then was lacking in soapy goodness!
The Picollo and Timeless soon showed the shortcomings of my soaps back then.
A forum member put me onto Body Shop Maca Root & Aloe.
What a great soap (or soft soap, or croap?).
Lathers up easy, very slick (plenty of 'slide and glide').
Soft as though! First time I sort of plunged the brush right in deep.
Just a little dab now with a wet synthetic Yaqi brush, face lather and 'Wow'...what a great feeling now when I shave.
I've thrown out all my old soaps and now just have the Maca Root, some Arlington, Fenchurch, and a wee bit of Figgy Puddin' left.
Any of you have any love for the Body Shop soap?

It's a sleeper here in the States. Used to get quite a lot of attention but with the bloom of artisan soapers, it's been supplanted. It's a great cream/soap and I have a tub.

I had a small sample of it at one time that I recall liking as much as I liked any soft soap/cream. My main issue goes along with something Lipripper said - for the same cost I can get so many interesting artisan soaps, and there's no brick and mortar location near me to make it easier to purchase. If I find myself in one of the stores with some extra cash I'll probably grab a small tube of it just because I did enjoy it but I doubt I'll go out of my way for it.

I have a tub of the old formula when it was just called Maca Root. It's a cream. I don't dip my brush in creams. Too much waste. I did that in the very beginning and I want through a tub of TOBS Sandalwood in a relatively short amount of time. Now I scoop out enough for my shaves with a small spoon. That way I don't dilute or taint the entire tub. I don't have the new formulation. I will probably try the new one out of curiosity but it won't be for a while since I have a large number of soaps and creams to get through. And I may even have another tub of the old formula in a bin somewhere that I've forgotten about.

I picked up a tub because it’s conveniently located nearby. I like the shave it provides but the scent doesn’t do much for me.

I used my almost gone tub of macca root that I bought probably five years ago last night. I love the stuff. I pulled out an old tub of TOBS, started to lather with it and then binned it and switched to macca root. It got really hard and didn't feel like bowl lathering it. Sue me.

When this tub is gone I will buy the new stuff for sure. Totally underrated cream for sure.

I used the body shop maca root cream several years ago a few times, then threw it in the drawer and hadn't used it for quite some time. I put it in my 'for sale' box but haven't been able to move it. so rather than giving it to someone else or throwing it away, I use it for my head shaves now. I'm almost out of it.

will I replace it? maybe, but it won't rush out to go pick up a new tube when I'm out of it..

You get it in a tube? Mines in a tub.
Is this the old style Maca Root, or the newer Maca Root & Aloe?
I've never tried the the old style, just the 'Aloe' version and it's quite a nice cream.

I didn't know that they weren't selling their creams in a tube any longer!

yes, mine is old, probably an easy 5+ years old. I'm not sure if it has aloe in it or not..
