Try to clear all cookies and re-log in.....sometimes websites can act erratic when you stay logged in too long.

Im not a techie....but thats how most problems like this are solved

I sometimes get the problem you describe...clear cookies and good to go

The "authorization code mismatch" message appears when the auth code generated before submitting a generic form (in this case the login form) does not match the one generated after submitting the form. Leaving aside possible forum software bugs, is it possible that when you back in later on the site, you are actually trying to login on an old page version, the one that you have after signing out, therefore a page with an expired auth code?

Keep in mind that when you click "login" you still remain on the same page. If you are not sure, you can try to refresh the page before trying to login or to login with the default form opening the login link in a new tab (right click > open link in new tab) in order to get an updated auth code. If you stop getting the error after doing one of this two things, then this is the problem.

I'll be honest, I didn't understand too much of what you've written here. I sign in to the same page. It usually doesn't happen during the day, though I sign in and out several times. It mostly happens when I turn on my computer in the morning. When I shut my computer down at night I do not shut down Safari and keep my favorite tabs up, including Damn Fine Shave but do sign out of DFS itself.

Before you log in to the site in the morning after starting up your computer/laptop/tablet, try refreshing the page first, then log in after that.

Let us know if you're still seeing the authorization code mismatch error...

Andrew and mooreg, last night, before shutting the computer down, I closed out the DFS tab.  This morning, when I put up a new DFS tab, the problem wasn't there.  I guess it's six of one and a half a dozen of the other which way I go as to signing in.  Either way involves one extra (very minor) step.  I'll live with it.  Thanks for the help.

there's a reason it was happening for you. after a certain amount of time that a session is open, if you're not logged in, your authorization key expires and needs to be renewed...this is done by refreshing the page and such.

we're looking at way to minimize the errors and after speaking to a developer of the software we use, he submitted some code for the core forum software we use that might help out as well.

Thanks, Andrew.  As I said, it truly is a minor inconvenience and as long as I can get on the site then it's okay.  At least now I understand the problem and have options.
