Am I The Only One Who Dries DE Blades Before Depositing Them In My Blade Bank?

I dry them because I always have this notion that some day I'll want to do some project that requires an old razor blade (or many of them) and I don't want them to be all rusty or stuck together. My blade bank is a Bunnykins coin bank, so I could always fish one out through the (normally plugged) hole in the bottom with a magnet.

My drying method (also for blades I'm not finished with) is to make a Cookie Monster puppet with my left hand and a towel, and then pinch (or bite) the blade to pat it dry.

You never know. I might need some for a Cenobite costume some day.

I do use a similar technique. I wrap them in the paper and kind of squeeze around then I open the paper up and kind of wipe or clean them off if necessary.

Perhaps I'm crazy, but I can't help doing this. I know it doesn't likely matter, I'm not using these blades again but the idea of them sitting in the bank wet bugs me. I dry them off with some toilet paper then drop them in. Am I the only one who does this?

I leave it in the razor to dry. The blade is alway's dry when I change it out after 7-shaves.

I used to leave them in the razor when I started, then at some pint it was easier to take them out and put them back in the wrapper especially when using a different razor. I would have to take it out of the razor and switch it anyway.

I try to get the blade right in the bank. I used to wrap the blade in tissue then deposit it. One day I was cleaning up and I thought it was just tissue so I grabbed and crumbled it. Almost lost the tip of my finger. I did take a chunk out which luckily was still attached so I tucked it back in and it healed. Now I dry them and right the bank they go!!!

Ah shoot fire man, you made me cringe a little bit there. Lol 
So cool to have feelings though even if it is a cringe thinking about a razor blade in your finger.

Feelings can be a mixed bag. Haha!!! And razor cuts on blood thinners can be a great way to spend the day. It was a strong reminder to respect the blade, however.

It’s impressive how well those blood thinners work isn’t it? With a nasty razor cut? Did you need medical attention or did it eventually clot? Even the odd shaving nic flies pretty freely on thinners.

I don't rinse them, but I do dry them...so I suppose I'm half crazy.

I used to remodel old houses, and one time, we tore out a subfloor wall, and guess what my laborer found???  Yes, about 80 years' worth of blades.  That old codger must have been looney too, because they were all dry, and mostly un-rusted. 

I nominate the old fool as founding member of the club, may he rest in peace.

Old houses used to have metal medicine cabinets installed that had a slot cut in them for dropping used blades into. There was no container in behind to catch the blade, they just dropped into the space between the studs inside the wall. I guess they figured it was a safe way to dispose of sharps and the space would probably hold 100+ years worth of blades so the original owner /shaver would be long dead  before it was ever filled or discovered so who cares.

Yep, I have one of these but never installed it. And for the record I just put my blades in the dispenser I have whether wet or dry. They're getting thrown out. I don't care if they are dirty or rust.  I guess I'm just a Barbarian

Think I got it as an add on at Maggards and that's their stock photo. They probably still sell them.
