Personally, I really like the new pre shave. I just add a little more water in my palm and feel like I have good control while doing so.

I am really loving the most recent Kairos (L'Avventura). I think it builds a creamer lather than the Amare.

I am learning that if I use these two together, a good shave is "in the bag" before I even touch the Feather to my face. I almost miss the uncertainty of not knowing if I will get a good shave. . . . but I don't miss it that much--it sure is nice knowing I will get a good shave!!

I like the new GroomingDept preshave also. Great stuff. It can make a great lather from a less than stellar soap. I have also found that my post-shave is better when I use it.

I too am enjoying my Pre-Shave that I received during the most recent drop. It is definitely thicker than the prior version--I used two jars of that old formula and liked it too. That said, I have a preference for the newer formulation. I am also finding that the new formula is slightly slicker than the old.

Kairos is fantastic, but I've just been using Fortis the last couple of days, and it's no slouch! For Mo's "bargain" formula I think it outperforms almost all of my other non-GD soaps. I like all four scents I got (Spa, Boomer, Regenwald, Tabac), though I do wish Boomer was a bit stronger. Happy with all of them though.
