Andrew, I remember the old DFS, yes. And I remember it being quite recent (a few months, perhaps?), but I was not in the very beginning of it. I probably was around by 2009-2010, after the creation of the Semogue Owners Club thing, and the launching of the Semogue 2009 Limited Edition.

I think Matt sold the forum in 2011 or 2012, then it was tweaked slightly by the person who bought it before he took it offline for roughly 3 years before I bought it from him.

I've asked on the other forums that I've listed(not all of the since I'm registered to 8 only) and it seems that the chronological order is:
1. Sharprazorpalace forum(the old straightrazorplace forum)
2. Shavemyface forum
3. Badger and blade forum
4. The shave den forum(was created in 2007)
5. Theshavingroom.co,uk forum(was created in 2009)
6. Subreddit wicked_edge(was created in 2010)
7. Romanian forum forum.barbieritdelux.ro(was created in 2011) I am Romanian, that's why I've listed it
8. Shavenook forum(was created in 2012)
9. Damnfineshave forum the second incarnation(was created in 2015)
10.Atgshaving forum(was created in 2016)
11. The facebook group straight razor place facebook(was created on 1 March 2018)
12. Theshavingcadre forum(was created on 14 March 2018)
These are the one I know of so far.

DFS has existed in one form or another for a number of years. I was a member of it at least back to 2010 in one of it's earliest iterations.

I miss some of the older forums. I liked the first version of SMF and I really liked Coticule.be (it still exists in a very minimal way). I'm a member of the new SMF, but don't go there often anymore.

Truth be told, I lurk here on DFS a bit, but don't post like I used to. The good thing is that any questions people may have are immediately answered by other members and while I may peruse the threads, I don't feel the need to add my two cents. This hobby is certainly in maintenance mode for me.
