RIP mark. I didn’t know him personally, but I have had a few interactions and conversations on here with him. Always gave me a fair deal when I posted WTB ads, really a great guy. He will surely be missed.

Mark always helped me with shave decisions and responded to PMs immediately - when I was looking to build a unit to house my shave gear he sent me this picture of his own - WAY too many holders for me, but I used the same artisan to build my shelves.

I will miss Mark - RIP my friend.

Thanks for sharing!

That’s Marks den alright. The cool thing is he has some pretty hard to find razors in that rack like the 1 of only 10 Raw Shaving RS 10 Titanium. We were just talking about that about a month ago because some guy offered him a ridiculous amount of money for it and Mark turned the offer down and told him I’m not interested in selling it so I asked him you don’t use that to often right? He responded with its in my rack and I use it like I do all my other razors! That was Marks attitude on all his shaving items.

I knew Mark as ShaveMD from another shave forum and feel deeply saddened by his sudden passing. He was always willing to share his extensive knowledge of just about every razor that was released and was a fabulous person to go to for the question of which existing razor a new razor most closely resembled. I also enjoyed reading about his experiments with various plates and caps.

It hardly seems fair that as a physician, a person dedicated to healing the people in his community, that he may have been worn down and out by the pandemic burden put on the health care staff who did not leave the profession or take early retirement when they certainly could have done so. The sacrifice Mark made was and is also being shared by the family he left behind. I lost my father last July to age related illness and am grateful he did not have to practice in the pandemic.

I share this sentiment. I, too, have lost family to this pandemic.

Mark's threads and posts will be missed by me. He was always willing to help fellow members…such a loss.

Tragic, I've had communications with Mark through the years & he was a gentleman's gentleman. He will be missed by the shaving community, certainly. But he will be missed & grieved by his friends & family. My deepest sympathies to all who knew him & loved him.

Great photo! Thanks for sharing. That’s one I haven’t seen. He also recently added the original Prototype of the Janus Toggle that he’d wanted for a long time. Mark always liked his Adjustable razors that’s for sure.

Incredible. It really is true - Mark had tried just about every razor under the sun.
