Easy to lather in any type of water, provides sufficient glide, the packaging is proper, somewhat unobtaium. It’s French, which implies good quality, the brand has been around for a while, the formula doesn't really change. Customers can always expect the same thing. There is nothing wrong this soap.
Some people don’t care about post-shave qualities, some people find it good enough and just slather a boatload of stuff afterwareds; I’ll share more of my thoughts about this issue when I talk about my preshave.
I dislike terms like top-tier or the best soap out there. People have different needs, budgets and priorities. Some people don’t want to spend money on shaving products and just like to buy Palmolive sticks and Willam’s pucks or something else! Whatever works, but judgment is not necessary
I agree with every word of this post, Mohammad. I’ve not noticed the drying effect of MdC, but I also slather boatloads of aftershave afterward. As a huge MdC (and Grooming) fan, I’d love to test your Replica base. I use Rose, Fougere and Vetyver—often.
