A Few Words About The Newest Grooming Department Soaps....

MdC is what it is. A soap that has been around for a while. Easy to lather in any type of water, provides sufficient glide, the packaging is proper, somewhat unobtaium. It’s French, which implies good quality, the brand has been around for a while, the formula doesn't really change. Customers can always expect the same thing. There is nothing wrong this soap.

Some people don’t care about post-shave qualities, some people find it good enough and just slather a boatload of stuff afterwareds; I’ll share more of my thoughts about this issue when I talk about my preshave.

I dislike terms like top-tier or the best soap out there. People have different needs, budgets and priorities. Some people don’t want to spend money on shaving products and just like to buy Palmolive sticks and Willam’s pucks or something else! Whatever works, but judgment is not necessary

I agree with every word of this post, Mohammad. I’ve not noticed the drying effect of MdC, but I also slather boatloads of aftershave afterward. As a huge MdC (and Grooming) fan, I’d love to test your Replica base. I use Rose, Fougere and Vetyver—often.

I agree with all of this. But, personally, I do care about the post-shave qualities. So I'm willing to pay a bit more for the butters, oils, and milks in soaps such as those from Grooming Dept. and others. My face needs all the help it can get!

Now you got me started thinking about a new base. I'm going to call it "Lucid" it shall be identical in ingredients to MdC

I may be in a minority...but.I found MdC to be a sub-par performer - for my skin anyway - in terms of protection and comfort. I’m sure you’ll make a superior product. How they justify that high price has always been a mystery to me.

I agree about MDC. I purchased and sold both MDC Fogure and Vertiver. Yes, the product does make nice slick lather but left my skin feeling dry. Having these products as options, I found myself NEVER reaching for them..

I'm thinking of some fun ideas for this project I said previously it'll be six ounces. Instead, it'll be eight ounces poured in each jar, allowed to cure (about 8-10 weeks), and will be labeled seven ounces. There will be very few jars of this soap, I'm tight on shelf space for curing.
