I figure the spirit of January restraint is displeased with me. Also in February I ordered a couple of items and yesterday I got the “out for delivery “ notice then the “we delivered your item “. Great right?  Nope. Not in the mailbox or on the front step. Sometimes they show up the day after their “delivery “ so I had hopes for something today. Nope. Either lost entirely or the mail delivery person put the key in the wrong mailbox and I have bad neighbors who liked the package too much to drop it on my step. I think there’s a message in here somewhere

Dang Mark. Sorry to hear. That is frustrating.

My mailman has a habit of scanning my packages as "delivered" then not putting them in my mailbox or on the porch. He literally scans the package, then throws it in a pile in the truck and drives away. I've caught him doing on more than one occasion.

Restraint? What's that?

So I showed a lack of restraint earlier this month and I'm being punished for it.  I saw a bottle of MacDuff's Old Sea Captain aftershave on someone's SOTD - I have the scent in v3 soap and really like it but MacDuff isn't making the scent anymore and isn't stocking it.  I found a source, The Razor Co. with one bottle left so I figured what the heck, even with shipping and exchange.  Well, purchase price $18.49 + shipping $19.29 + duty $17.85 (just sprung on me now) x FX comes in at a cool $65.83 (Cdn) - and to make matters worse the DHL online payment is FUBAR.  That is pricey for a splash made just up the road from me in Edmonton.  Lesson learned.  Again.  But this time for real.  I was surprised with the duty as its almost never charged when I buy from US vendors but then they usually ship USPS and not DHL.  The couriers will extort every dime from you and had I known TRC was going to ship it DHL I would not hav bought it, I mean the shipping cost was more than enough but the duty sends it over the top.

Just further to this - I've been completely unsuccessful in trying to pay the duty through DHL's online system - multiple failed payment attempts both with valid PayPal and CC.  I'm a little frustrated.  Learning - NEVER order from any vendor that uses DHL EVER.
