Trotter Handcrafts has a Badger knot a lot of folks have been raving about. Not sure if Paul has the knots in stock. They sell out faster than Black Friday doorbusters at Walmart.

I am in agreement with the above!

When I can show some restraint solidly for several weeks, I plan to submit a request for a specific color and style. And the knot will be one of those badger knots! Originally I wanted a custom resin handle, but now I am using it as a reward if I can stop impulsive buying.

I bow to others opinions on the knot, as my badger experience is limited. But I love the knot!

Looks like I'm out again...

I was talking to Eric MaineYooper yesterday morning, as I'd like to give injector razors another go. If I can find the right one that works for me, I'd be able to participate in SE-ptember and other themed shaves.

After discussing it, I decided to look into a Type G. I bookmarked a few and even struck up a conversation with Don (Techichi). However, I found a pristine looking razor with no bids closing late last night. I put in an entry bid of $5 and left it for dead. Except... Except! No one else jumped on it, so I won!

Nice score Paul! I got one of those not too long ago (a gift from a generous soul). Pretty sure its the "G" as well. Mine is really aggressive, but I like it!

I see a bottle of MacDuff’s Old Sea Captain aftershave there. Maybe my favourite MacDuff’s scent. I have the soap in a v2 or v3 base, still pretty good but I was unable to get the splash before he stopped making it. Sad

So I showed a lack of restraint earlier this month and I'm being punished for it.  I saw a bottle of MacDuff's Old Sea Captain aftershave on someone's SOTD - I have the scent in v3 soap and really like it but MacDuff isn't making the scent anymore and isn't stocking it.  I found a source, The Razor Co. with one bottle left so I figured what the heck, even with shipping and exchange.  Well, purchase price $18.49 + shipping $19.29 + duty $17.85 (just sprung on me now) x FX comes in at a cool $65.83 (Cdn) - and to make matters worse the DHL online payment is FUBAR.  That is pricey for a splash made just up the road from me in Edmonton.  Lesson learned.  Again.  But this time for real.  I was surprised with the duty as its almost never charged when I buy from US vendors but then they usually ship USPS and not DHL.  The couriers will extort every dime from you and had I known TRC was going to ship it DHL I would not hav bought it, I mean the shipping cost was more than enough but the duty sends it over the top.
