I want to invite everyone to the 2016 Seattle Shave Convention.  The convention is being held on Sept. 17th at the Washington State Convention Center (WSCC).  We have moved to a larger venue to ensure we have room for everything.

This is our third year and we have more than doubled the number of people who have shown up each year.  We are shooting for over 100 people attending this year.  You can take a look at last years meet up http://damnfineshave.com/thread-seattle-shaving-meetup

This year we have dedicated areas for demonstrations and instructions, a raffle table for donations, and a general shoot the bull and show off your goodies area.  We are also doing something a bit different this year and have dedicated vendor’s tables set up for the meet up.

Come down and meet your fellow shave enthusiasts, see some great gear in the vendor area, bring home nice swag, and have a good time overall!  For more information, feel free to shoot me a pm or take a look at www.seattleshavecon.com. (Full disclosure, there is a $5 admission charge to help cover costs.)

Hope to see you there,
Matt Broderick

P.S. For more information on this and other shaving meetups, take a look at www.shavemeetup.com!

I generally don't like crowds (having attended way too many medical conferences in the past), but I just may have to go this gathering.

Thanks everyone! Celestino I hope you can make it this year!

churchilllafemme, I understand the feeling. I don't like large crowds and had to stop attending public auctions because of it, but this has been a lot of fun so far. Hope you can swing by and check it out.

I went last year and had a blast. Matt creates a relaxed, uncrowded atmosphere. I'll be there!

Here is an update for those of you looking to attend this year's meetup:

Vendor area: So far we have 5 vendors who will be present to showcase thier wares (2 more in the works)

-Whiskey, Ink, & Lace
-Mornington Shave Co
-Barrister and Mann
-Rockwell Razors
-PAA / Crown King

Dedicated demonstration / instructional area: Have an area set aside for straight razor honing. This will include a USB microscope and a laptop screen to look at edges.

Raffle and Promo Item Table: Starting to get in some items for the yearly raffle and have some really cool swag lined up from event sponsors

Discussion / Seminar area

- There will be a talk by Gareth of Rockwell Razors on his experience with crowdfunding and how he sees it affecting the wet shaving marketplace.
- A Round Table discussion about the current state of wet shaving and where it might be going in the next few years.

General area to rest your feet or swap goodies with your new friends.

Shoot me a PM if you have any questions or go to www.seattleshavecon.com, hope to see you there!

I can't make it out this year but I'm going to try to get out there for this in 2017. my wife wants to check out Seattle anyway so it might be worth it to do both at once.

It's a fun city, but i recommend coming out here in the summer or early fall. The rain and clouds the rest of the years is fairly blah...
