That's pretty funny! For the life of me I can't figure out why people pay such inflated prices for sub-$20 razors. Then again it is eBay, the place where a grilled cheese sandwich fetches $28,000.

I find vintage razors most of the time when I look around in an antique stores, and I do that only occasionally. They aren't worth a pile of money, especially when equally good new razors can be had for $30-$60 and vintage razors for $5-$20. It is not just the monetary value that makes it satisfying to own a particular razor, though. The reason I passed on the toggle is that I already have two razors, including a Slim adjustable, and prefer the twist mechanism over the toggle. Buying treasures on eBay is one way to acquire them, but IMHO it is a lot more fun to find them in the wild. Kinda like an Easter Egg hunt. There are huge numbers of razors yet to be found, so why not go for it?

truth be told, in the 8-9 years I've been doing the wet shaving stuff, I've only ever personally seen 1 toggle out in the wild. I think that's what is justifying their higher prices.
