Damn Fine Shave

General Rules
Treat each other with the same respect you would if you were talking to each other face to face. If there's a good chance the person you're talking to would punch you in the face for saying what you're about to type, you probably need to re-word your post. If you're going to say something controversial, or otherwise act like a jerk, be prepared for any backlash that might follow.

Let’s also remember that we are a community made up of many different religious, political, ethnic, nationalities, and other backgrounds. Though we do not have to agree with all views of everyone, we need to respect an individual’s right to believe in what they see fit. That does not mean that certain topics cannot be discussed in the appropriate section but disagreements should be kept respectful and not turned into personal attacks. Sometimes, it is necessary to realize that the best option is to agree to disagree. We come together here from all walks of life to talk shaving, goof off, have fun and get away from those other shaving sites. We encourage you to speak your mind here and give honest opinions of products regardless who makes them. We do not censor or delete posts just because we may not agree with what the poster is saying but.....with that being said, there are off limit topics here.

Politics - whether it be a political ideal, a political person, a view on society with a political slant, etc.

This is to be a work-friendly site. With that in mind and out of respect for others, profanity, pornographic images, discussions of illegal or illicit activity, or any other offensive behavior is unacceptable. Certain sections are more lax on this and will be appropriately marked.

At times, the moderators might have to edit, lock or hide certain posts or threads out of respect for the community as a whole. We will notify the appropriate individual(s) and discuss any actions taken with those individual(s).

Forum rules

• You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-oriented or any other material that may violate any applicable laws. Doing so may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned (and your service provider being informed). The IP address of all posts is recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions. • You agree that the webmaster, administrator and moderators of this forum have the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic at any time should they see fit.
• As a user you agree to any information you have entered above being stored in a database. While this information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent the webmaster, administrator and moderators cannot be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised.

• Posts are to be made in the relevant forum. Users are asked to read the forum descriptions before posting.
• Spam is not tolerated here under any circumstance. Users posting spam will be warned and their post removed. Continued spamming will be grounds for immediate termination of posting privileges
• The moderating support team reserves the right to edit or remove any post at any time. The determination of a post that crosses the line and is considered bad for the forum community in respect to personal attack(s), spam, use of profanity, use or links to pornographic images, discussions of illegal or illicit activity, or any other offensive behavior, is the sole discretion of the moderating support team.
• Comply with the requests of the moderators. We really don’t interfere unless it’s absolutely necessary. We will gladly discuss with you any requests we make. This can be done via private messaging so as to save anyone from any unnecessary public embarrassment.
• Members may report posts they have a problem with using the red exclamation point at the bottom of a post. This will bring you to a form that you will need to fill out so that the moderating support team understands your compliant to said post.
• Avoid posting links to live auctions on eBay or other sites.
• Members are welcome to use the “Post Testing” thread in the “Forum Help” section for general "test purposes". These may include checking signatures, testing a link or image, etc. (subject to previous points on decency)
• The above forum rules where applicable also apply to private messaging. Abuse of the private messaging system may lead to warnings and/or the revocation of private messaging privileges.

Use of Damn Fine Shave name

• The use of "Damn Fine Shave", "DFS," the website's logo/banner or name must first be approved by the DFS Admins. Any discussion of "exclusive" products bearing any of the website's logo, banner, or name without prior approval will have the thread temporarily moved until further discussion by the Admins.

Pictures

• Pictures added as links can be no larger than 600 pixels Wide X 800 pixels High, or they will show as a link to the picture.

Avatars

• Avatars may be 90 pixels X 90 pixels, with a maximum file size of 100 KB
• Avatars are subject to the same conditions as posts with respect decency, and so forth.
• Abuse of avatars may lead to warnings and/or the revocation of avatar privileges.

Signatures

• Signatures are subject to the same conditions as posts with respect decency, and so forth.
• Members should use common sense when developing their signatures. If you cross the line, the moderating support team will warn you and ask that it be changed immediately.
• Abuse of signatures may lead to warnings and/or the revocation of signature privileges.

Vendors

• Vendors are more than welcomed to hawk their wares in the "Vendor News" section. Use common sense though.
• Outside of the "Vendor News" section, you may respond to threads in which your product/service is first discussed by another member. However, the discussion should be specific to the OP and intent of the thread. It should not be taken as an opportunity to pitch a product or service (i.e., a commercial).
• Spam is not tolerated here under any circumstance. Users posting spam will be warned and their post removed. Continued spamming will be grounds for immediate termination of posting privileges

Policing

• DFS operates on a three strike policy. Users will be warned a maximum of three times for any and all offences in a three month period. If the need arises for a fourth warning a temporary ban will be put in place of between 1 to 7 days.
• Any attempt to circumvent a temporary ban or other moderator action will lead to a permanent ban of your account(s). Circumvention includes re-registering or using an already registered account under a non-banned username. Other examples include changing IP addresses, using a new email account or other action that can be taken to evade moderator action to hide your identity as the owner of the sanctioned account.
• An exception to the three strike rule applies when users contact members personally (via any method) and post insulting, indecent or vulgar material. Such users may be subject to an immediate permanent ban.
• Permanent bans are a last resort and thought is given before implementing them. While the consideration of lifting permanent bans may happen from time to time this will be a rare occurrence.
