Living on the edge
I have always loved shavettes because they come close to the straights in terms of
usage, without the elaborate and time consuming rituals.

Im using a Focus right now, which is really cool.

Any others you can recommend....Im only into shavettes that would accept half
a DE blade.

I don't love them.
I find a long blade better.
Especially if thick like the Artist Club.
Better still if with guard.

But I like this.
People who use it are totally in love!!!

I love classic straight razors.
But tech gap It's huge.
With moderns, same result with no effort.
... and It's duuuuurable!!!

I received a Feather Artist Club DX today from a member. I had a 4 day growth.

So today was my first shave with it. I only tried an actual straight once, and I didn't look forward to the hone/strop issues. I bought a Blackbird Vector Ti and decided that since I had the Artist Club blades anyway, I'd give it a go. I wear a Van Dyke facial hair style so I didn't have to worry about chin, or under nose.

I did pretty well for a first attempt. I have a - well I don't know what it is - bump, mole, something ... on my cheek and if I'm overly aggressive with a DE I can cut it, but I found it much easier to cut with the AC DX - So I'll need to work on that. And I only did one pass, top to bottom, and I often do two with the DE and the Safety AC razor. But not a bad start all things considered.
