Gents,

How do we not have a thread like this?  Guess I will start.

6/8 Wacker (love this razor!)
Purple Welsh

Just a touch up to remind myself what a razor off of this hone feels like.  It was a really nice shave!

Oh boy! Where did you get that purple Welsh?

aj_1001 is the seller off of the U.K. EBay.

The Purple Welsh is a decent finisher.  It got along well with the pictured Wacker razor, and it delivered a nice shave.  It’s a very economical natural finisher that gets the job done!

EBRO!  This one had a small chip near the toe, and some edge geometry issues.  I think it’s sorted out, and ready to go now!

Today I honed the old SCARGILL!  The bevel near the edge is now a mirror, and it passed the HHT all along the edge with flying colors.  I am really looking forward to my next shave...this is a very neat razor!

The best way that I can describe it is some straight razors are refined and elegant, some are fancy, some are standard run of the mill...this one seems to ooze masculinity and it’s raw.

I used the following progression:  1k Chosera, Zulu Grey Black, Zulu Grey Silvein, Zulu Grey Green, Zulu Grey, Jasper w/Tomo Nagura slurry, and Jasper under running water.

Yesterday’s shave was terrible!  I was trying a new soap, and the lather was the worst I can remember.  It was so bad that I didn’t do a third pass, and I didn’t post the SOD pictures.

There was also something that said the edge wasn’t quite as good as it could be on the first brother of the Ramapo twins.

So I re-honed it today using a slightly different progression.

I will try it again in a few days!
