we set up the T&N mattress on Tuesday night. the mattress seems to be about 4-5 inches short of it's 76in width mark to make it a regular king size bed. T&N mentioned that because of the way they compress the mattresses for shipping, sometimes it can take up to a week to fully expand. I understand that, so we'll let it go for a little bit to see if it reaches it's proper width. does it affect the sleep? no, but I want what I paid for (a 76X80 mattress), of course. they also asked me to take a photo of the bed tag that is under their cover and measure the width of the mattress with a tape measure in a photo. I figure if it doesn't expand, I'd defer a replacement to see if we're going to keep the bed or not. I don't want to be wasteful..

anyway, the bed is definitely supportive and firm..possibly too firm for some. we're going to give it a few weeks to see if it's too firm for us. I'll post some photos tonight.

Have you slept on it yet or are you still waiting for it to expand?

we've been sleeping on it since last Tuesday. I think it'll take a full month for us to know if the bed is for us or not. it's most definitely on the firmer side of the scale, even with me being a larger gent...the foam barely sags.

My wife and I have been looking for a new mattress. The tuft & needle just may be what we need. Are you ready to say you're keeping it and... more importantly... you guys really like it?

we're going to give it a full month or two before we decide since we have the 100 day window. the bed is definitely high quality and on the firmer side.

I will say this, their customer service is excellent. as I noted in an earlier post, I ordered the standard king which is supposed to be 76in wide. My bed is measuring just over 73in in width, even after almost a week of time to expand. tuft & needle is sending me a replacement (before I could even tell them to hold off until we decide if we're going to keep the bed) and told me I can either keep the 'defective' one or they'll help me find a charity to donate it to. I'm going to give that one to my Mom.

we had one and ended up returning it. my wife did not like it at all to firm for her and ours also was way short of a standard king size even after a full 2 weeks. they also sent us a replacement but it was exactly the same way about 74" or just shy of it. also they claim this is a "new" foam to me it fealt alot more like what latex feels like than memory foam. i highly doubt after sleeping on it its a totally new kind of foam. it was much more springy response wise than memory foam.

we ended up going through costco and got the sleep science ara king mattress instead and we both love it. the way it feels is very very similar to the cloud lux from tempur and we tried TONS of them out in store before buying anything after returning the second tuft one. costco's return policy is insane and the sleep science company was AWESOME to deal with. we had a tear in the bamboo cover and they sent a whole new one telling us to toss the old one, they even sent free pillows with it as a freebie. the ara is higher density foam @ 5lbs then the tuft and much more of it 6 5/8in i believe or about that. imo this is what memory foam should feel like. and we have owned a few tempur along with others over the last 20 years

edit the tuft foam is only 2.8 lbs so most likely its just a variant of poly foam on top. the base support layer is 1.8lbs which is okay
