I have my grandfather's Shumate 3.0 barber razor. I did a little research and know a bit about it. It was made in St Louis... had to be before WW1 because he used it in the navy during that war. Among his other duties onboard the USSS Missouri, he was one of the barbers. 

I know it isn't an expensive razor, but I'd like to know if any of you know much about them. It's in what I think is excellent condition... no nicks to the blade, no rust, etc. I have a sharpening machine that has a leather wheel.... it might need to be touched up on that. 

Anyway, if anyone has more detailed information than I'm seeing online, I'd appreciate any comments.

That’s pretty neat!  Can you post a picture?

I don’t think I would sharpen it on a leather wheel.  I would hone it, or send it to someone to hone it for you.
