09-30-2011 04:39 PM today I was in walmart picking up a few last minute things needed for our trip next week and I as usual I walk down the isle with the shave stuff. You know in hopes they remove all the disposables and fill it with DE's. Hey a girl can dream. That's when I noticed something different. A RED BOX !!!!!! I took these pictures with my cell phone and texted them to Freddy. But I still picked one up for the hubby. Oh and the 6 oz bottle was cheaper than the 4 oz bottle. Go figure. They call it Classic Scent and it says EST. 1938. When I got home I smelled this cologne and the fragrance oil that I have that people say it smells like the old vintage scent they remember that was discontinued. And well to me they smelled alike. So does this mean that they listened to their customers and brought back the old Old Spice version that their customers crave? It says it's Fabricated in Canada but distributed by procter & gamble in both the US and Canada. I am including links of the larger pic in the link in case you want to see details. http://i319.photobucket.com/albums/mm454...pice-1.jpg ![]() http://i319.photobucket.com/albums/mm454...pice-2.jpg http://www.prairie-creations.com/shop/index.php click to find Prairie Creations ~:~"~:~"~:~"~:~"~:~"~:~"~:~"~:~"~:~"~:~"~:~"~:~ "believe you can and you're halfway there" Theodore Roosevelt

09-30-2011 05:51 PM I always thought that was just new packaging for the same P&G stuff, which I really like btw. Gary
09-30-2011 06:07 PM No it's a different bottle. I just took this picture. But the label now says EST 1938, but it says classic as well. http://www.prairie-creations.com/shop/index.php click to find Prairie Creations ~:~"~:~"~:~"~:~"~:~"~:~"~:~"~:~"~:~"~:~"~:~"~:~ "believe you can and you're halfway there" Theodore Roosevelt
09-30-2011 07:30 PM Interesting. I haven't heard anything about a reformulation, but maybe something is happening. I don't use the OS aftershave myself because I like the ViJon knockoffs at $1.25 a bottle LOL. However, I did buy the OS cologne bottle in my picture a while back. It had caught my eye because the Walgreen store I was in that day had a mix of the old and new boxes on the shelf, and the Classic box stood out.

01-27-2012 10:27 AM Damn right! Reminds me of an uncle I had who used to be in the British Navy. Tattoo on his arm of a mermaid, tales of fighting chinese pirates and seeing nuclear bomb tests in the Pacific - and the unmistakable tang of Old Spice hanging in the air. Awesome memories. Not sure if I'm quite up to wearing it now - anybody tried Brut recently?

01-27-2012 01:19 PM My Grandfather had the market cornered on Old Spice. When he passed I found 15 Big bottles at his place. Each day give Thanks, Ask for Forgiveness, and Help someone, You never know if this will be your last chance.
01-27-2012 01:50 PM I detested Old Spice as a kid. The smell seemed to be really powerful, and I didn't like the 'spice' element. Flash forward 30+ years and I love it, and it seems far more subtle.
