But would he have understood what you're talking about.

I'll reach out to our host and CDN provider to see if they had any routing problems in the Washington/Western Canadian regions over the past week. That makes the most logical sense for why there were problems for specific sets of users.

it looks like there was indeed a DNS issue with our CDN provider over the past few days in the Western Canada/Washington region:

Quote:We did experience some DNS troubles late last week with some providers incorrectly caching obsolete information. This was mostly in Canada but the same change would have applied to users in Seattle. (Same DNS servers for this region)

Do you have more information about the time frame and exact error?

Thanks,
Sebastian

Another thing is that it couldn't have just affected the western part of Canada/US as a few of our members live in that area and they don't seem to have been affected.

Hi celestino , I wonder if it had to do with the service provider? We're on Shaw for our internet and Telus for the mobile devices and I couldn't access DFS on either the laptop or the iPhone. Also I'm located in Alberta although I have family in Ontario and Quebec.
Cheers,
Mark

Interesting, the time frame for me seems to have been from some time on May 11 until the afternoon of May 17 - I would check periodically throughout the day to see if the problem had been resolved and while I can't be precise on when it started - I think my last posts were on May 11 but I likely wouldn't have noticed the problem until the morning of May 12 and I know I still couldn't access DFS the morning of May 17 but was able to in the afternoon of May 17. The exact error was that when I clicked on the bookmark or entered the web address the page would stay blank and the progress bar at the top of the browser window would move about 10% of the way and then just freeze. On a couple of occasions when I waited a long time before closing the window or navigating elsewhere I actually did get to the DFS site but it was like bizarro DFS - no images and screwed up formatting and inability to navigate around it or really use the site. I'm located in Western Canada (Alberta). I hope that helps.
Thanks,
Marko
