The SOC line will be changing some, mainly based on input from here.

It is expanding to add the finest badger knot in 23.5mm-24mm X 53mm (the prototype I've been testing recently).

The handle wood will be changing to the Cherry wood, like the 2009 Boar LE brush.

Finally, the handles will be offered in 2 options: the traditional (as the 2009 Boar LE/current SOC boar), and a barrel handle.

So, there will be 4 brushes in the SOC lineup now:
[list][*]Traditional cherry wood boar
[*]Traditional cherry wood finest badger
[*]Barrel cherry wood boar
[*]Barrel cherry wood finest badger[/list:u]

Here is a pic of the barrel handle in cherry wood:

Great news Matt Thumbsup I can say I am not a fan of the barrel shape though but the LE handle is probably one of my favs and the most comfortable to use. I really would like to try out a Semogue badger at some point.

Definitely a great looking brush and the barrel shape is very intriguing. Now comes the hard part, badger, boar, badger, boar????? :hmm:

It will all depend on the price.

I am still interested to hear what the price of the SOC finest badger brush is going to be....hopefully since its finest and not silvertip it will be A LOT less expensive than the 2010 LE.

Don't the Finest knots usually fetch a lot of dough like the 3-banders?

Seems like the boar would be best on the SOC handle since the bristles are stiff. If I were to buy any of them I would go for a set with [Boar/SOC] and [Badger/Barrel]. The soft badger isn't going to present any gripping issues like the boar can. JMO from looking at the pictures. In any event, they are all very pretty. Thumbsup
