Here's my latest acquisitions from Semogue! One is the Semogue Owners Club in finest and the other is the limited Caravela that's half boar and half badger! Both real nice brushes. I think the Caravela is going to be my favorite! Will be giving it a try tonight!

Best regards,

Harry

Harry, I'm really looking forward to your thoughts on the Caravela. Smile

Ditto what Freddy said !

Congrats. on the new brushes Harry ! Thumbsup

I'm also particularly interested in what you think about the Caravela....( Great name for a brush IMO ! - reminds me a bit of the Santana album Caravanserai.

Do you own a Vulfix 404 by any chance ?

Andy, I do own a Vulfix 404 and I was thinking along the same lines...perhaps a comparison. I really like the 404 so it would be interesting to see how the Caravela and it stack up against each other. Smile

The only other boar/badger mix brush I know of is a Wilkinson, it would be nice to have a little round up of all available......now where is that emergency money I can tap into?

Emergency money Rotflol
Yeah guys, I think the comparison would be a top idea. ( I also have a V. 404)
Now it's just a matter of one of us ( Harry we're looking at you ) buying all three for the comparo !

Gary do they still make the Wilkinson mixed hair brush ? ( I havent heard any mention of them for years. )

Best,
Andy.

Alright gentleman! Here's some pics of my latest additons. The Caravela is a fantastic brush. Best of both worlds for me! A little scrubbinest, great backbone, with the badger for added softness. The brush performs well! The first time I used it I face lathered. Had to go back to the soap once. Don't think I loaded long enough. A bowl test lather was done and found it previded enough lather for 3-4 good passes. I haven't used the SOC finest yet. Compared to the Caravela it has less backbone but more than my Rooney Heritage Stubby 2 (3) band. I may get the SOC in about a month. Really like the Caravela that much![attachment=0]

Thanks for the link Gary !
At around $21.00 it looks interesting for sure.

Sorry Harry, I didn't mean to hijack this thread it's just that mixed badger/boar brushes are pretty rare.
Great looking brush that Caravela, thanks for the pics ! - how long did they take to arrive ?

No specs given for the Wilkinson and IMO it won't win any beauty contests, but still.....

I failed to wait for the barrel handled SOC, there's a Caravela on the way.
