first I'd like to thank Matt for picking this up for me at a local antique shop near his house.

what we have here is a G1 eversharp schick injector from 1946-1949 in GREAT shape that came with it's original box and an eversharp blade inserter (I guess that's what it's called?).

coincidentally, while browsing around on this site, I found an error in his patent numbers. I believe he missed a "0" in his first set of numbers for the type "G" razors. my patent numbers on the razor are 1806087 and 1969945, while on the site, the first set reads 1806807.

just by holding the razor itself, I can tell that it will not be my favorite of the 3 injectors I currently own. I much prefer a razor with a longer handle and this one has the shortest out of my 3.

Here's a few photos I took;

Andrew, except for the color of the handle, it looks like mine. I get fantastic shaves from it. Enjoy! Smile

Very nice Andrew, I have two G's, neither as nice as yours. Can you rotate the "spring" for cleaning?. A soft toothbrush, some hot water, and elbow grease might bring the metal up a bit.

Max: Hey, piece of pie.
Curnow: Cake, piece of cake.

Max: Easy as cake, yes?
Curnow: Pie, easy as pie.

I'm not sure. I honestly didn't know there were any rotating parts on the injector razors. Is that what that gold piece is that has the hump in it?

I actually cleaned both of my newly acquired schick injectors last night with a tooth brush and some soapy warm water. after cleaning them thoroughly, I dipped them in some isopropyl alcohol for a few seconds to sterilize them.

I do have barbicide; I wonder if it would stain my razors?!

Yes, exactly. Should rotate to the left with light pressure, then the bottom portion of the blade holder drops down for easy cleaning. Like so, sorry for crap cell phone pic:

My Injector seems to be locked in place though it looks somewhat like the one in the picture. How did you unlock it so you could turn it to the left? To be honest, I don't know if mine is an E series or a G series and if that makes a difference. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Freddy, what is the patent number on your schick injector? we can identify it pretty precisely after we get that information.

It looks like 1806087 and under that Others Pending. Yours has a second number. Also, Andrew, mine says Schick Injector on the round part where yours says Eversharp Schick.

looks like you have a type E. You'll have to look at the different types of type "E" schick injectors on this site to see exactly which model you have.
