02-04-2012 10:45 PM here are the injectors I have picked up over the past few months. I only shave with injectors, and have sold off all of the other DE razors that I had, which wasn't many. from left to right: G1, E2, L1, F, J, J, and an I1. With the two model Js, I'm not sure exactly which model they are. Both have different markings on the head of the razor, one says eversharp and the other says schick. also, the schick does not say made in USA while the eversharp one does. here's two photos of the case for my type F here's three photos of the case for my G1

02-04-2012 10:50 PM Very nice Andrew, the L type was the best for me so I kept that one and sold the others a while ago. I've never seen the F type before and looks quite interesting. Next up you'll have to try out a PAL, either an adjustable or non. For me though they weren't as smooth and didn't like the 'tabs' next to the blades on the adjustable. Gary
I am curious to know though how some of the patent numbers were found for some of the razors. for example, on my type I, J and L, I don't see a patent number. on my type L, I see M29, but that's it. on IamJody's site, there's patent numbers for all the aforementioned types. http://renaldo.us/SchickRazors.html (02-04-2012 10:48 PM)GDCarrington Wrote: Nice representatives of the injector family! thanks! I've only shaved with the type L and type F so far and only shaved with the type F once. I really do need to rotate them out more often. I tend to like razors with longer handles because I have large hands, so I think both of my type Js and my type L will ultimately be my favorite. I really do need to figure out exactly which model Js I have. I know the I2 hydro-magic has an actual lever for it, like the one Freddy has, but I'm not sure if the J3 and J4 have a physical lever or not...hmn... What is a PAL? |

02-04-2012 11:20 PM Very nice, Andrew. Enjoy them all. For quality of shave, I much prefer my E to my I-2. Freddy
02-05-2012 01:14 AM Andrew, Just some FYI on PAL... PAL was originally known as PAL Cutlery Company based in Massachusetts and later in New York in the 1920s and 1930s. They made double edge razors and double edge blades similar to Gillette razors of the time. After the company went out of business and in the early 1950s, the brand name was acquired by American Safety Razor Company - aka GEM, aka Personna - who continued to make double edge razors and blades under the PAL name but also marketed its injector razors and injector blades under the name after Schick's patents on injector razors expired. More PAL injectors were sold in Europe than in the US because Schick pretty much owned the injector market in the US. Even Gillette's attempt at an injector failed because people equated injector with Schick. That's why you find more PAL injectors on eBay UK than you do on eBay US. PAL was a huge brand and money maker in the UK for American Safety Razor. Another very uncommon injector you should try and get your hands on one day is the Personna Floating Head injector. They were made in the early 1970s and features a spring loaded pivoting head which was intended to adjust the amount of pressure automatically. As I can't post photos or links right now, I'll leave it to you to Google or better yet, search for it on eBay using the completed auctions function. You should see the NOS I bought and am waiting on to arrive any day now. As it's NOS, it also includes five Personna 74 injector blades - the best blades ever, injector and double edge! -Jody I hate it when Buddhists get all "emptier than thou". - John Fugelsang

02-05-2012 12:34 PM No wonder I can't win any eBay bids. Right now I have an E3, 3 G1's, and a PAL and my favorite is a G1. However, I am now locked and loaded for some eBay items that I intend to win. Nice photo collection. Johnny "Younger than some, older than most" - Wet shaving for 50+ years.
