Sel, I sometimes use a glycerin bath soap as a pre shave. I feel it works, as does most 'soaps' as long as you don't rinse your face too much and leave some of the soap slickness.residue on your face.

I've never tried the actual Musgo Real Glyce but have found most soaps to do basically the same thing.

If you go to this website, http://www.theportugalonlineshop.com/ind...&man_id=14, you'll find that there are non Musgo Real soaps made by the same company with the exact same ingredient list that is much cheaper than the Musgo Real Glyce lime oil. But! I have no first hand proof, so I can't really say its exactly the same.

I don't use Musgo, but I've been using my melt and pour shave soap as a pre-shave soap for the last week. I've had some really nice and easy shaves trying that.

As stated, the Musgo Real Glyce Lime has glycerin in it as well as lime/lemon oil. I have been using it for years before every shave, and I can tell a difference if I don't use it. It seems to help condition my skin and leaves a kind of slick sheen/lubricant if you will.

I'm sure there are other soaps that will probably do the same thing, but this is the pre shave soap I use. I highly recommend it.

I just wet my face with warm water, rub the soap between my hands to work up a lather, rub my face good with the soap, then lightly rinse with warm water. Then apply my shaving cream/soap. I do not rinse my face until it is squeaky clean, just a light rinse.
