While looking around the Italian shaving forums, I cam across this site

http://www.mondial-shaving.com/

If you look around a bit, there are sections to click on the bottom and you'll notice that this company sells a line of brushes and soaps.

According to this thread ( remember this is translated Italian with google translate) the products will be available online in the next few months. The soap, if I read it correctly, will be available in Almond, Sandalwood and Mandarin. The beginning of the thread starts of with a very promising review.

I'll be keeping an eye out for this stuff when it comes out. In the meantime, I wonder if any of our vendor friends have looked into this company.

Gary, that link brings me to the main index page of a forum. I found the thread after going into the "Shaving Creams & Soaps" section, then scrolling down to "Mondial - A Pure Shaving Cream"

Definitely sounds interesting. I notice that one of the ways they offer it is in the same style tub as the Tcheon Fung.

OK, contact Eric, and work up a group buy! Angel

Matt, just checked the thread and I'm not sure how I can get it to go to that thread through google translate. Oh well, sounds interesting though.
On the thread there is also a distributor listed http://www.morocutti.it they sell the Fattip razor along with the Mondial products.

Hi Guys,

I just checked the thread on the Italian forum. I am a member of that forum too. From what I read, Mondial is speciliased in brushes and also offers shaving soaps in tubs that are rather familiar....
Besides that, there is a larger retailer in all kinds of personal hygiene stuff (Morocutti) that also sells these brushes and has said to one of the forummembers that they will sell new soaps with new fragrances in about 3 months time.

This forummember has received some names and they are exactly the same as the Tcheon Fung Sing soaps. Actually, we already have them in our shop. Bergamotto Neroli, Tabacco Verde, Mandarine e Spezie, Zagara are just te same. (We have the first two in stock). I know that Tcheon Fung Sing wanted us to do distribution outside Italy, and this way they can also serve their own domestic market.

So, I can relate to the excitement on this Italian forum and I do know that these soaps are already available. The thread starts with someone who has bought the Mandorla (almond scent). We have them as the TFS pura crema da barba mandorla 125 (icecream).

Hope that I can get some of the excitement to the Damnfineshave-members!

Bye,

Eric

Thanks for the clarification Eric.

I'm technically a member of that forum although I can't read or write Italian and google translate doesn't work when your logged in so in other words it really doesn't make sense for me to be a member.

Keep in mind the Fatip ( or is it Fat tip?) razor as I seem to remember it getting very good reviews here. Although, don't seem to see them anymore on the SOTD posts.Hmmm

So, what I'm getting is that these soaps are nothing other than TFS soaps under another name?

Tell me more about that Tabacco Verde scent....

Tabacco Verde is a bit hard to describe. Like what was told on another forum, the Tabacco Verde has a classic scent. Not as fresh as the Bergamotto Neroli. I heard from a customer who said he could tell there was a little of a tabac-flower-scent, but haven't had that confirmed by Tcheon Fung Sing. For what it's worth, when I have used it Lysbet and the kids like the scent. I wish I could compare it to other soaps, but I can't. When I first tried the Bergamotto Neroli, I really didn't expect that scent for a shaving soap. With the Tabacco Verde, I thought that this was a typical scent for a shaving soap.

I expect some reviews soon, as we recently sent out some tubs to our customers.

Gary, I still use my Fatip and like it. I use my razors as the mood strikes, which is the only reason you haven't seen me use it recently. I'll try to remember to give it another go soon. It is a bit more aggressive than, say, a Gillette NEW long comb, in my opinion.

*Deep Sigh*

So is anyone interested in a buy for tobacco or the neroli soap?

Rotflol

I'm in for the tobacco. I was going to order some anyway when I ordered the Wilkinson aftershave. I'm not sure what to think of a bergamot neroli. I've tried a bergamot bay rum before and really did not like that.
