Happy Memorial Day. To those who have served or continue to do so - THANKS.

We spent the weekend at camp. Just a lot of rest and relaxation. My wife took her camera and took lots of photographs.

I spent some time fly fishing from the little dock.

I catch panfish and perch. This is a bluegill.

He was a pretty good size. Notice the blue dot behind the gill giving the species its' name.

My wife likes the red winged black birds. They seem happy and perky to her.

Though this one appears none to happy to have his picture taken Smile

My wife went out in the canoe. This is a large beaver lodge. Not a dam - just a house. It is 5 feet tall.

This is one of the resident loons. They have a hauntingly beautiful call.

This is an iconic loon pose.

This one groomed its self while ML watched for an hour. He then proceeded to just play in the water - splashing about.

Hope you enjoyed the holiday.

Great photos, Phil. That fish looks like what we used to call sun fish, or sunnies, when I was a child.

Those photos look so peaceful. Glad you were able to get some fishing time in. My tackle, sadly, has a thick coating of dust on it.

Freddy,
I grew up in Pennsylvania. We called these type of fish "sunnies" as well. Except the ones with the blue dot. We called them "Sylvania" Rolleyes. (That an old timers joke referencing flash bulbs). Anyway we called the ones with the blue dots "blue gills". They are a type of sunfish

Thanks for the comments It was relaxing.
Fly fishing requiers attention and concentration. Even though that sounds like work I find it relaxing.
