to build on the group buy of the MEM shaving cream that just took place, post up your reviews of the cream, so we can all see how it performs with different brushes!

This definitely ranks up there as one of my all time favorite creams. As Selwyn said, it is quick to lather and it doesn't take much cream to build enough lather for three passes. It leaves my skin feeling soft with no dryness or irritation. Also, I find this cream offers very good glide to the razor. I have used this with a variety of brushes including my Semogue 1305 boar, Shavemack 177 silver-tip badger, and Vie-Long 12601 horsehair among others. All performed well with this cream.

For me, the one down side is the packaging. For some reason the tube can sometimes leak and the cap can sometimes crack. Even so, as long as I can get it, it will remain in my rotation. It's just that good in my opinion. Smile

It produced a heavier lather which improves the shave and works well in hard water. I like it but have not had any problems with the packaging....yet?

I agree with just about everything you said there.

also, isn't it ironic that mine had leaked some today too after I broke the seal on it? My lady had threw the cream to me to put it away, but it fell out of it's box. I'm beginning to wonder if it was leaking some before she threw it my way or what. hmn....Huh

Nice, thick, creamy lather with my Penchetta 2 band (26/48). Plenty of glide. A small amount will go a long way. It also has minimal scent so as to not get in the way of my AS.

Definitely a winner.

An excellent shave cream that is very thick and creamy thanks in part to olive oil.

I've been recovering from a minor surgical procedure so I haven't shaved for 72 hours before this morning. I decided to give the Mem a spin.

The results were very satisfactory. I face lathered it, and it was thick, creamy, and very slick. I had no problem with using it to mow down a pretty thick growth of stubble.

This was my first use of the MEM, and I found it to be quite good overall. A small amount of it lathered up well and quickly with the Somerset Chubby 2 in Best. It produced just a fair cushion (probably because I used too much water, too wet a brush), but it had great slickness and glide with my iKon Modern. The scent was very faint, neither pleasing nor displeasing. I'll need to try this cream again in a couple days. At this point I'd say it ranks with other inexpensive creams, one step in quality below the better English ones.

Had my first go with the MEM today. I think the water ratio was off, but I did get a really nice thick lather that gave my razor really nice glide. I face felt great afterward, although I used Pinaud Citrus Musk AS and that always gives me a great finish.

Just noticed last night that my tube is leaking at the cap. Guess I'll have to stand it up it the medicine cabinet from now on.

Mine does that. It seems to stop pretty much right after it seeps under the cap, and I've never had a mess on the counter. Not sure if it winds up sealing itself as it dries or what, kind of odd that it happens if you ask me.

....

Although I'm not very experienced with the higher end English creams (I did have some TOBS Sandalwood a long time ago, not used much), I have to say that once you get the ratios worked out I think the MEM will rise to the upper list.

Well, I used this cream for a week. I find it does not work well for me. I had a lot of trouble getting the product/water ratio worked out but once I did, a fairly nice lather was gotten. MEM does provide great glide but that was about it for me. Cushion is important to me and it was not present. The scent is a take it or leave it for me as well. It does moisturize well though. Anyway, this one goes back on the shelf for another try down the line

I used the MEM and T&H Trafalgar a couple of days on and off, and honestly can't say that the MEM is better than the T&H and have a hard time saying its on par. I'll have to give it a weeks worth much like Michael to really say how good it is.

Interesting, I find it so easy to get a great lather from it. Hmmm
