Yesterday, I received a tube of Lavanda shaving cream from Phil (Bullgoose). This is my second tube. The original that I purchased a year or two ago was awful. I was convinced by Phil and a few others to give this cream a second look since it had been reformulated. The new formulation is a HUGE improvement.

This cream lathers beautifully and it didn't break down. I never had to go back to the bowl as the brush easily held enough lather for my three pass shave.

I found it to be very protective and the lanolin made it feel terrific on my skin. The razor just glided across my face as if it were ice skating; it doesn't get any better than that.

The scent was my biggest letdown. I happen to like the scent; it's very earthy. However, in no way did it remind me of lavender.

I find the price very reasonable for a cream of such excellent quality. I paid $10.00 at Bullgoose.

I would definitely repurchase Lavanda, as it is now made. It is a superb product.

Lavanda is one of the creams that I always look at buying, but I've never pulled the trigger on. I just have more 'want to buys' than I have storage space and disposable income LOL.

My thoughts exactly. I really never thought I'd bother with Lavanda again. However, Phil, Emanuel, and Jeff (Crackstar) were all pretty insistent that the change was for the better and that I should revisit it under the new formulation; they were right. Just don't expect a lavender scent in any way, shape, or form. The scent is quite earthy and I can see it being polarizing. I happen to like it.

Sounds like my kind of lavender. The first time I smelled the T&H lavender shave cream I thought it was earthy and I liked it.

Pam and Gary, to me there is no scent of lavender whatsoever, not even remotely. Even Emanuel mentioned something like that and he lives in Portugal.

I'm so cheesed at the old stuff (you know the tubes supposedly found in the back of a Jersey warehouse Tony Soprano used for a front), it will take some doing for me to try it, especially since I can get the lavender scent I like from QCS or Vintage Blades products.

Max: Hey, piece of pie.
Curnow: Cake, piece of cake.

Max: Easy as cake, yes?
Curnow: Pie, easy as pie.

Sounds intriguing. I never considered it before because of the lavender scent, but now I may check it out. Especially considering that it has lanolin in it.

Interesting to hear about the reformulation...I was really unhappy with my first tube and haven't used it after two attempts...but like others, I have way too much product and no place to put it. Heck, I even have some Red Proraso and Noxema creams that I haven't even opened.Rolleye

Oooh, Red Proraso! I am jealous. That is some good stuff. One of those discontinued products I really do miss. I should have bought up more back when I had the chance.
