This article, in a slightly shortened version, appeared in this morning's Los Angeles Times Business section. Cheers

thanks for the article, Freddy.

I wouldn't be surprised if some of the big razor companies start making older style razors again. shaving with a brush and an older razor is fun and doesn't make shaving so boring.

I agree with you on all points, Andrew. Why? Because the big razor companies smell $$$$$$.

I think if some of the big razor companies saw what Fatboys were going for on eBay they'd smell a niche market they could get into.

They can do what many of the eBay sellers do and just label any razor a "Fatboy." Confused

From my point of view, I don't know if the article portends good news or not..

I kinda' like the niche thing!

If Old Spice made a commercial with the 'I'm on a Horse' guy whipping up some Old Spice shave soap in an Old Spice mug they'd sell 10 million of them to housewives wanting their husbands to be that guy. Package it with an inexpensive Old Spice 3 piece razor and they'd in business.

Chicks dig old timey shaving. Wives and girlfriends would be buying them up.

It's going to catch on big, and we're all going to start a multi-blade cartridge forum to bring back "the old ways"..... Rotflol

No, I can never see that happening.

Great article .. I always get a straight razor neck shave at the Barber I use. No one in town is offering a full shave but I saw a bill board the other day were they are advertising a "Hot lather neck shaves" I have been told that shop gets a lot of guys in there that want that.

Add another bunch of bucks to the vintage razor auctions on ebay. I saw a Gem 1912 at the local pawnshop yesterday. The tag on that is $50.00!! It's a nice one, and in the box too, but it hasn't been all that long ago we were swapping them around for the price of shipping, and you had to toss in a soap or something to get someone to take it. I liked it better when we were thought to be a bunch of stuck in the past crazy people. The gear was cheaper and easier to find.

On the bright side....we are shaving with a nice stash of inheritance cash!
