02-05-2012 01:24 AM (This post was last modified: 02-05-2012 01:33 AM by IAmTheJody.) Just a quick hello. Many of you know me from other forums or from my collecting of all things Gillette. Recently I've decided to get out of collecting and back to the basics of why I got into wet shaving in the first place: better shave, save money. Collecting still allows for the 'better shave' part but certainly not the 'save money' part. Because I gave up my Gillette bottom-dial Fatboy, I've a new 55" HD flat screen hanging on the wall just in time for the Super Bowl. Priorities! lol
Seriously.. looking forward to sharing and learning. The Shave Den is my home - and for full disclosure, I am a moderator there - but like going to a restaurant or bar.. you've got your favorite but you still like to visit different places from time to time. I just enjoy the unique camaraderie and friendships that can only be found at the wet shaving forums.
My chosen weapons of mass stubble destruction are a rhodium-replated USA Gillette 1934 open comb Aristocrat, rhodium-plated British British Gillette 1940s No. 16 solid bar guard Aristocrat, 2011 Muhle R41 with Bob's Razor Works "Bull Mastiff Deluxe XXL With Flared Knob" handle and a Schick Type L5 "Paul Revere" injector. I've also a Cooper MonoBilt flip-top open comb DE and a 1973 Gillette long black handle adjustable that I use from time to time. As for blades, either Voskhod, Feather or vintage Personna 74 can be found in my razors.

Happy shaves to you all! Welcome. I'm not a fan of TSD, but look forward to positive, helpful contributions.

But I still won't pay anymore than a buck a blade for 'em. Which is why I don't have that many too! -JodyI hate it when Buddhists get all "emptier than thou". - John Fugelsang |
