I've got a Tony Miller red latigo practice strop that I bought along with my TM hanging strop when I started. I remember how put off I was by all the items needed to get into straight razors.
So, for a person interested in giving straights a try but is dazzled by all the items needed, I'm offering this practice strop cost free to the first person to PM me with a serious interest in learning the straight razor.
There are a few nicks at either end, but the middle stropping surface is completely undamaged. If you're learning, you'll nick it up anyway just as I did.
I've got a few strops here now, and this poor little strop is just collecting dust. I'll even pay for the shipping..

I only have one request, and that is that when you've mastered straights and the strop, and you buy something nicer, pass it along to another that may benefit from it..

Merry Christmas to all at DFS...

BTW, I can post photos tomorrow when I get the camera out for SOTD.

Nice one Bill, this is a great offer for someone new to straights. A practice strop can save a lot of money!

Thanks for all the kind words, gentlemen, but I'm almost a bit embarrassed by this offering...

It's not much and it's a bit nicked up, but it is good for someone starting out to save a few dollars. I'll also throw in a few goodies to sweeten the deal. I'll keep this open until the New Year, in case anyone is on the fence..

Here's the pic. It's very difficult to photograph properly.. At least for me, but it will give you an idea..

You are a good man to offer this up. I just don't trust my hands enough for straights.

Hi southpaw,

Yes, the strop is still available, and it's yours if you want it.
Right now it's at my camp in the Adirondacks. I'll be making a trip within the next two weeks, and probably be there for almost two weeks. I'll bring it back with me, and shoot you a PM.

And BTW .. Welcome to DFS! Cheers
