Also, I'm curious if anyone has experimented with a half DE in the Essence? Curious how it compares to the AC blade in there. Thanks

I'll try it eventually and report back if nobody has tried it yet.

Thanks

[Image: AAP2Mky.jpg]Great shave today with this one. I’m getting a bit better with the technique. I need to watch a few SR videos.

It works. And works better than in most other shavettes. You don't get the edge to edge cutting that you do from an AC blade, or even an injector blade, but it does hold it super tightly, unlike most other shavette designs, which means it shaves quite well with a DE blade.

Still, it's rather like using your Ferrari to pick up groceries. It's under utilizing a great razor. I'm the one who convinced Manuel he should have it take DE blades along with the other blades, so that's a fine thing for me to say, isn't it?...

I envisioned adding the DE blade capability as an option to make it more attractive to barbers; DE blade usage wasn't really something I expected hobby wet shavers to be all that interested in with this razor.

Edit: this is one of the very, very few shavette type razors I'm willing to use a DE blade in, for what that's worth. The Focus is the other one. Just because I can use a DE blade in other shavettes doesn't mean a person should actually shave with them. Save those shavettes for what they were meant for. Edging necklines.

The IBC razor also takes the same trifecta of blade types. The Essence does it better, IMO.

I agree.

Totally.

Actually, there're good shavette for full DE blade.
The blade is not the best, but the holder works very well.
And its price is way lower than its VALUE.

As my Vanta RA111.

I think this one too. For half DE blade.
Quick loading mechanism, with Feather style spring clamp.
And It's CHEAP ... as the blade.
