12-02-2011 11:31 AM After a week of grumbling wondering where my new 2011 LE Semogue brush was. knowing that my straight razor buddy in South Carolina got his before Thanksgiving, I went to Vintage Scent's web site to check my account. Lo and behold, it had shipped 11/13/11 and I was conjuring up some wrath for US Customs when I thought to plug the tracking number into the Portugal Post (whatever it's called) web site only to discover that the USPS had attempted delivery on 11/22 at 5:01 PM. Say what? . I was home on vacation that week and there's no delivery that time of the day in these parts!.Anyways, cut to the chase, I was at the P.O, when it opened this morning, clerk said, "Oh you'll be getting second notice of attempted delivery in today's mail". Odd, I never got the first notice. Privatization of the USPS can't come soon enough in my mind. Opened the mailer and behold! : Other photos of the new additional to the family here: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a...552&type=1 Max: Hey, piece of pie. Curnow: Cake, piece of cake. Max: Easy as cake, yes? Curnow: Pie, easy as pie.
12-04-2011 06:29 PM Picked this New Standard at an estate sales yesterday. The head is a bit worn, but the case and the tuck is in good condition. Maybe in a few years when gold prices come down, I'll have it replated. Gary

12-05-2011 02:42 PM Wow!! You gents are off to a great start! I got nothing sexy or very interesting, but I did buy a Naniwa Chosera 1000 grit sharpening stone.. It will take it's place as a dedicated bevel setter.. Better a diamond with a flaw than a polished pebble.... Bill Brown
12-05-2011 05:36 PM Honestly, Bill, you are our go-to guy on straights! Enjoy. ![]() I also managed something. Greg of iKon razors was selling NOS Rotbart razors. I couldn't resist. ![]() Freddy

12-05-2011 10:18 PM I picked up this vintage Schick E3. According to what I've researched, it was made between 1944-45 and was WWII U.S. Navy issue. It really cleaned up nice. Much better than this picture looks. [attachment=1951] Johnny "Younger than some, older than most" - Wet shaving for 50+ years.

It's more about style, features, and cases than it is patent numbers. Schick Razor Timeline Well, it's not often you see one of these little beauties. Brand new, in the case, PAL Injector Razor. I will have it in my grubby little hands on Thursday or Friday and will shave with it the next day.
