Sorry Kevin :ashamed1:

We went to Neiman Markups yesterday to pickup a parfum for Karen. She wanted Balenciaga Paris but while we were there she wanted to spend time looking at the Jo Malone stuff and so I thought I would sneak away and visit the Creed counter. 3 women asked if they could help me and I was only half way across. A nice lady named Jung jumped between me and the Creed counter and asked if she could help and so I gave in and said I wanted to look at the Creed line.

I had not spent any time looking at Creed and only knew a few I have seen people mentioning at places like B&B. First I asked to see Green Irish Tweed, Eau de Portugal, and she also sprayed me and a card with a newer one called Aventus. I wanted to see how the dry down smelled so we went and had prime rib at the Daily Grill.

The first thing I noticed was they all had an overbearing nondescript rancid sweetness that attacks you like a mugger in the dead of winter. The sweetness they use to water down all their products shall now be known as "Swamp Water". We were checking out the dry down process all through lunch. The only one that even had a chance of being bearable was Green Irish Tweed as the tiny amount of fragrance used to flavor the swamp water was strong enough to make it's presence known. It didn't smell too bad either but it was drowning in that sea of sugar known as swamp water. The others were little more than extremely slight variations of the same old swamp water.

I noticed a list of the core fragrances on the sample card and I saw the word Santal. Alas I thought, "Sandalwood"!!! I love sandalwood big time. Sandalwood could not be too sweet and surely had to smell nice. They have 2 versions that I know of. They have the older of the two called Santal Imperial and the newer version called Santal Original,,?!?!?!? I know, it makes no sense. The least rancid of the two is Imperial as it has a faint and cheap woody note that barely makes it out beyond the spherical moot that is known as, you guessed it, "sWaMp WaTeR ",,!!! The Original has sandalwood as a top note and 15 minutes later the sandalwood is gone and all that remains is swamp water. I considered the smell to be equivalent to your grandmother's douche bag hanging on the shower rod, whatever that smells like, but I know it can't be good. WTH, sandalwood that has no sandalwood in the base??? I don't get it. I just don't understand how an expensive and revered product line could go so very wrong.

Now I have a ton of Creed samples that I abhor and they all smell like fruit salad after 8 hours in the summer sun. Even the one they claim to have made for the Sheik of Alibabah was the same old tired flotsam. I am simply amazed they get away with charging so much money for the rancid swamp water they are peddling. For 30 bucks you can pickup a bottle of Taylor's that is distinctly different than the other Taylor cologne's and it will have real ingredients and smell like true to life things like wood, fruits, spices, and flowers that people know and love.

I know opinions and preferences will be different for the most part so if anyone wants the samples then shoot me a PM with your address.

Nothing against sweets but I like a little cake with my icing.

No need to be sorry...the only one I like is the Original Vetiver but even that one I would not fork over the outrageous prices. I will though go back to Neiman Markups and get em to give me another free sample.

Now that is funny. After I started this thread I did a search for creed to see who might be offended and you Kevin were the only one that poped up. I think I have you beat though.

I don't know why but my brain decided to assume Philq is the same Phil at Bullgoose.

Then SodaPopJones posts pictures of that beautiful brush he got from Tony at Penworks, I think.

So being the bonehead that I am, I PM Philq and in so many words say "You should get some of those brushes because they are BLEEP BLEEP"! We are talking big time bad language. So Philq is shocked on a couple of different levels and replies "??????????????". So I reply with "It means the brush is cool Dude". And he comes back with "Where did SodaPopJones get that brush"? At this point I am scratching my head and thinking "How can Phil at Bullgoose not know about Penworks"??? But I replied and told him "Penworks".

Flash forward to 3 AM this morning and I go to Bullgoose and order some Shave Shop cologne and Iridium blades. In the comment box I write

"This order is an act of contrition for the color comments I sent to you a couple days back in that PM".

"Hail Geo F Trumper & Mr Taylor, fathers of shave"

And then I submit the order.

Then I come here and hit new posts and see the "I will be absent" thread. I watch the movie with Philq at the "Flying of the Angels" ceremony and I feel so guilty.

So, I change my signature that pertained to religion since I was so ashmed of offending someone who is religious. I replaced it with a much more polite quote from Sinatra.

I then go to Philq's thread and wish him a good time and to put one of those sausages in with the order I just placed over at Bullgoose.

So, of course Philq replies and says "You have me mixed up with Phil over at Bullgoose".

Then I get an E-mail from Bullgoose Phil saying my order will ship and that "I don't remember getting any colorful PM's from you".

Am I a BoneHead or what??? <~~ Would make a great custom title.

I get frustrated about stuff like this, I watch as my memory slowly disappears. I figured out they were different people shortly after I joined and then proceeded to forget and make myself out to be a donkey.
