In a recent conversation with both Marty and Freddy (enablers i might add) I decided to see what the fuss was all about. So I hope I'm allowed to join the group early.

Freddy recommend the 1305 for me, so I'm really excited http://vintagescent.com/shaving-brushes-c-5/semogue-1305-shaving-brush-p-25 Zzap

I know customs can take awhile as I've recently experienced with some 4711 talc and cologne coming from the UK. It took well over a month to get to me. But I know it will be worth the wait.

Welcome Krissy.
I only have a couple, but my first took over a month and when it finally did arrive, the package had been all ripped up so some snoop could see what was inside. I guess you can't really blame them anymore though.

Patience may be the key here.

You'll also need that for breaking in the brush; but it's well worth it.

eta: Freddy, Marty, shame on you both. This should not be tolerated! And Freddy, you're a 'mod'? Wtflol

As I remember it, SHE wanted a Semogue brush so she could join the club. All we did was tell her where to get one and suggest which one. Can't be much more innocent than that. Big Grin

Krissy, the Semogue 1305 is the best boar brush I have ever used.

I don't think you can go wrong with this one.

Krissy,
These guys are based in Ireland and the stuff they ship ( which includes Semogue brushes ) usually takes less than a week to arrive.
It seems that there's no customs hassles with stuff from Ireland (unlike Portugal.)

O - Oh !.....Now that I've just said that, I just noticed there outof stock of the 1305 ! - Sorry !

Best,
Andy.

Get the SOC, it was the holidays that caused the delays in customs, it's not like that year round.

Boars don't hold as much lather for me and when doing your legs I would go for the bigger SOC brush.

Actually, Marty, I haven't tried the 1438. My boar experience is limited to the Semogue 1305, 830, and 2000, the Vulfix 2199, and the Omega 48.

I hope the 1438 is just right for you!

Murray,
I'm a badger guy, but I had to see what all the fuss was about. A slightly used 1438 turned up on the BST and the price was right. I must say, it's pretty nice. A lot softer than I expected. I use it occasionally.

Marty, I'm really a badger guy, too. The 1305 works especially well with Cella soap, so I only use the 1305 with Cella and I only use Cella with the 1305. Big Grin Otherwise, it's Semogue badger all the way for me.
